Again it's a position that has changed a lot over the years but will you go for old style or new?

I think it's also possible that this thread may be the closest contested yet as there are 3 or 4 absolutely outstanding candidates.

Obviously Lee Jackson and Richard Swain jump out from my time watching hull FC

Has to be these two, tough choice between them aswell, swain for me just.

I only got to see Jackson in a Hull shirt during his second stint at the end of his career, but him and Swain would be my two nominations aswell.

Swain for me, phenomenal work rate, that last minute charge down to stop a drop goal in Cardiff summed his never say die attitude up.

Tommy Harris must come into the reckoning He played over 400 games for us and is the only FC player to win the Lance Todd Trophy at Wembley.

Playing ability in his day I would say that Jackson was the better player, but for work rate, consistency and commitment us the reason I would choose Swain.

He never won a challenge cup though, Swain was absolutely pivotal in us winning it, and he would have got the Lance Todd if the journos knew what they were looking at.

Tommy Harris was regarded as the best. But always hard when they have played so long ago. Add swain and IMO they would be top two with a mention to Lee jackson

Very tough choice with three obvious candidates in Harris, Jackson and Swain.

Not many on here will have seen Harris play whereas most of us will of course have witnessed the other two.

Harris - another player with well over 400 appearances over 13 season, holds the record for most GB caps for a hooker and is still the club's only Lance Todd Trophy winner. Richard Swain should have been the second though and is one of only three Hull captains to lift the Challenge Cup.

Tommy Harris the man who changed the roll from just a ball winner to what we see now .
Other should be Tonny Dukes a C C Cup winner at 37 back in the OLD mans replay of 82.

Having watched FC since the late 40's I would definitely go for Bomber Harris. Whilst Swain and Jackson were excellent, they didn't do it over the same period of time as Tommy.

Agree about Swain and Jacko. What about Treister - he was fantastic when he came over?

Jacko by a country mile for me.
