My faith is finally starting to disperse from me in its droves at the minute, the feeling of watching Hull has turned into a chore once again and its going to take some real upheaval to drag myself to the remaining games this season and i very much doubt there will be any more away games fitted in as if the players can't be ar$ed then i can't be ar$ed to spend my money too watch it.

Optimism was high at beginning of the season and managed to persuade myself to renew my pass once again but as the old saying goes "shame old different day" pretty much somes us up at the minute, same excuses year after year as always.
If I'm honest i didn't feel this pi$$ed off during the bad days of the pickavance and baildon eras when we was garbage because i new they bloody well tried and it was probably accepted but at the minute its depressing and i can't see the light at the minute I'm ready for the next kick in the teeth of this great club with good players leaving because of the direction this club is going and imo our major sponsor (P&O)won't renew so we'll be up the mire with that as well.

What have we to look forward too? entertainment value doesn't exist that's for sure and i have backed Agar pretty much all the time but I'm the opposite way now, even if we do get to the playoffs it will be embarrassing because the wigans, wire, leeds, saints are light years ahead of us in skill, personnel, fitness etc. Everyone is of the same opinion with regards our playing style so I'm not going to even mention that aspect

Any one got in positives to this great club and the greatest fans who have put up with so much crap for the past 4 years?

Cannot add any positives and i doubt anyone else can. Like everyone else has said the only way things look like they will change is if the club is hit in the pocket.

The positives for this club are off the field in it's financial position. There seem to be no positives on the pitch, we're just getting worse. All the coaching staff need to go, and so does a lot of the current team.

Nothing will change at the club until we get people in the boardroom who want success on the field rather than nice looking shirt sales. Agars contract extension typifies everything wrong with the club.

Quite frankly it looks to me as if all we need is someone who can get the most tactically, and motivationally out of some potentially talented players. There is nothing wrong with the squad, or their ability but half are trying, half aint, our game plan seems to be none existant and they all seem devoid of motivation!

You hang in their because you love your club, and have I guess seen worse. The difference is when we have seen worse over the years gone by we have as a club done something about it. We're just bumping alone at present and I for one am certainly well disolusioned.

Franchising is killing this club off IMO

Just about every other team in the league has used it as an opportunity to plan for the longer term, to develop young talent etc...except HullFC who've seen it as a 'we can't be relegated, so lets slash costs and make more profit' exercise.

when we sacked Sharp in 2008 we were perilously close to relegation, we ended up just 2 points (one win obviously) ahead of Castleford. If relegation was still there do you think the club would have gambled on Agar who had only coached York before? no they'd have done what Wigan did in 2006 (signed Noble and Fielden) and got the cheque book out.

given the clubs chequered financial history, of course it is good to have a strong and stable financial position. But I'm baffled as to why they won't spend the 100k or so a year extra needed for a quality coach, when the returns on this investment would be much higher. Just appearing in the CC final made the club 250k+ for example.

Pretty much how i see it Wilf. We know the majority of the players are capable of so much better as they have done it for us before or they have done it at other clubs. So why do players turn into dross when they come here, it has to be down to the coaches/trainers. We can all see it but it seems the board are happy with it.

I do wonder if the board had the benefit of hindsight would they still have extended Agars contract?

The club is in little danger and its future is pretty secure, so that answers the question posed in the thread title. On the pitch however we are just not going to improve whilst Agar is in charge.

Exactly! The squad is good enough to challenge, and with one change at the top, you would see a huge difference without changing the playing roster. But giving Agar a two year extension means it will be an expensive change. or did we have a 30-day money back guarantee in the contract?! here's hoping!!

Probably yes as it the cheap option,
What frustrates me more is the fact that Agar seems to be highly thought of and rated in the rugby circles i.e stevos, clarkys, players of the world but what they see is surly not what we get see served up on the playing field every week as its utter garbage and unacceptable.

The club have failed again to kick on from a promising era in their recent history. The short sightedness of the board not to kick on from 2006 is now what we're reaping.

Based on performances i would say the future is very bleak. Ive watched every game this Murrayfield magic and i can honestly say we are the most boring, one dimensional, passionless team to of taken the field. It is actually painful to watch when you remember how good we was and how attractive the rugby was when Mcrae was in charge just a few seasons ago. But whats more painful is the board seem to think its acceptable, even good quality given the fact that theyve just extended Agars contract. Absolutely unbelievable!

Oh btw thank god for Rovers who are looking equally as carp as us! icon_lol.gif

To be honest i agree, we have had worse. but we have had better. So i'm fed up of that being wheeled out.

The current situation is very bad, before "when its been worse" it usually finished in relegation, then the club would take action. Now we are guaranteed SL so whay change it?

Isn't just me then.
Depressing times ahead i feel, with no doubt some more poor excuses coming. As Bones mentioned we should of kicked on from 2006 but incredible we have gone massively backwards while everyone has stuck 2 fingers up as they have gone by on the playing field.

Are we?

A shiny stadium won't be enough to win a franchise if we set up permanent residence in the lower half of the table and crowd numbers dwindle.
