Were we going to spend the full cap under the previous owners?

"It is a case of us having a look at what is in the budget to spend. We have a change of ownership and it is fair to say our plans have been re-assessed," added Agar.
"We have a bit to spare on the cap and have room to move. I am confident before the season starts we will have some new players in."

Guess it depends on whether the 'plans' that have been 'reassessed' include not signing some players we previously were planning to - Long and Gleeson are the obvious two candidates. That would free up a big chunk of cap.

Sounds that way Jake. The old board would of claimed holding money back due to players coming on the market mid season I guess. Lets hope we really splash the cash now then.

I just hope that not spending to the full cap is not accepted as the latest reason for our underachievement rather than Agar. Most of us agree that the current squad (regardless of what it costs) should be good enough to be challenging for the top 4. There are also at least 2 teams above us who I would expect spend less than us.

It could Jake is right and we were not planning to spend the full cap or it could be your theory?
Either way we need more players so having room to move is a good thing. |

It pains me to say, that I hope we get hammered tonight, to show Adam Pearson,
that what can be achieved ,by top coaching., and also hopefully another nail in Agar's coffin.

To be honest, I feel a lot more relaxed about Agar now (& a lot more positive about the club in general).
We now have a new owner who will not accept mediocrity & underacheivement. I have faith that Pearson will do the right thing. I don't expect that to be before the end of the season though.

I hope we don't get hammered tonight. Its not good for anyone. However if we do I will be chanting Agar Out! - but not till the end of the game. |
