| 6th (joint highest place in the league since 2007).
Challenge Cup Final (furthest been since 2005's win and joint with 200icon_cool.gif.
Play off win (joint most we've ever achieved in a play-off series).
Two derby wins (joint most we've had in a season).
Win against Leeds (only 2nd time since 2007).
This time last week, people were saying this was the worst season for years. For those people that said it, I challenge you to pick a better season in the last 6-7 years.
Time to start getting behind the team, not making up reasons to slag them off! COYH.

| Agreed (With it not being too bad that is). Just the CC final performance overshadows so much. The disappointing thing really is that our record against other top 8 teams isn't too bad, but we had that bad spell with losses to Wakefield, Castleford etc. Second to the CC final for me was the home game with Wakey. Was really down after that one. Really dumb decisions made over and over again.
But we've got to remember our Leeds victory, the QF and SF games, racking up good scores against Widnes and Castleford and don't forget we did at least break our "Magic Weekend" hoodoo. Maybe the next one to go will the Wembley one. (Persoanlly I also really enjoyed Wakefield away, went expecting a defeat after Good Friday, but then a certain Jamie Shaul made an appearance!

| The issue is lack of progression. Still too many poor results (Widnes, Cas, Bradford, London away, Rovers, Wakefield, Saints at home). We lost six from thirteen at home which is not acceptable.
Getting to the Cup Final was an achievement but in the league, for me, we have merely met with my minimum expectations (thus far).

I'd argue that the issue is lack of consistency rather than lack of progression per se. In terms of results we have now progressed from last season with an equivalent performance in the league and a superior performance in the cup. Not so much where we are but how we've got here, so to speak.
There are some factors beyond our control that have contributed - our injury record has once again been pretty bad and in particular has given us yet another season with multiple halfback combinations - but we haven't coped with circumstances as well as we could have.

| It hasn't been a great season but nor has it been the disaster some people would have us believe. There have been some amazing highs but also some very depressing lows. We have shown an ability to compete with the best but an inability to beat weaker teams. If I would like to see anything from next season it's a greater level of consistency and to play to our best more often.

I just want to be entertained. Trophies are great when they come along, but I'd give my left bollock to be watching the kind of rugby (and the quality of players) we saw in the 2004 season. We've had a couple of notable highs since then (cup win, GF appearance), but in terms of the sheer entertainment value of the rugby on display, we haven't come close.

I agree completely. I'm heartily fed up of approaching each game with a feeling of trepidation rather than anticipation. I accept that there are mitigating factors, and we at least [itry[/i to play entertaining stuff, but our execution is too often poor.
I'm pretty much beyond caring why, as well. I just want someone to fix it. As soon as they like.

| Some real highs, Devastating lows sprinkled with a bit of poor direction and ideas!
It doesn't feel like it's been a good season no matter which way you look at it! Maybe we just expect too much! Ha

I think those were reasonable aims for this season, if you compare how we have done to where we were after Good Friday we really managed to turn what looked like a poor campaign into a good one

| On the surface it appears to have been a reasonable year. 6th place finish, Wembley appearance, at least one play-off win. These were probably targets for most of us in February.
And yet it is difficult to escape a feeling of underwhelming achievement, possibly a knock on effect from a deflating atmosphere post Wembley.
For me personally, whatever the cold facts say, there is still no sign of the great leap forward. We still look like a mid table average side who occasionally beat one of the big boys, rather than being one of the big boys who the rest of the competition fear and respect.
Our recruitment thus far for next year doesn't point to any great change in our fortune with a feeling of "more of the same" for 2014. We still appear to be treading mid table water where we have basically been since 2006.
2013 could certainly have been a good deal worse, but after all the talk and hype of last winter it really didn't inspire in the way most were hoping for.
