I don't normally mind AP but the guy has sort of ruffled my feathers a bit today with what he has put in the local rag. He claims that he aims to win back the two to three thousand missing FC fans that have gone AWOL over the last two years! Reality check Adam, Hull is one of the most affected areas in this recession so hence more job losses and more people without available leisure money at their disposal. If he is so interested in boosting the gate numbers then why don't Hull reduce their admission charges from what can be as high as £25 in certain areas to an affordable £15 and so on. Surely a KC stadium with 20,000 screaming Hull fans is better than a stadium with 12,500 in it? The extra revenue also comes from program, refreshment, shirt and miscellaneous sales. The truth of the matter is that even if a couple go to FC you can on average be forking out in excess of £60-£75 with admission, drinks etc, which in these times of financial hardship that a lot of people are feeling at the moment is a huge dent out of their budget. I'm certain lots of FC fans would love to follow the team in person Adam but facts are facts and its just way too expensive!!! icon_mad.gif

Sorry but if he expects to attract the 3-4k fans over easter at £20-23 a ticket he really does need a reality check.

I also see a lot of Hull City fans complaining they recieved the FC Grapevine asking them to buy a ticket yesterday... Low gate anyone? Or just a last rally round?

I still appreciate everything you have done though Adam, so don't take this as a negative please icon_wink.gif!

Yeah, why don't we promote £60 season tickets too. Just think, in a couple of years' time we could be asking our supporters to stump up £500k in a fortnight.

I can see that you've really given this some thought, what with the ticket deal with the SMC and all the reveue we get to keep from refreshment sales

Our deal with the SMC means that it's difficult to do cut-price plans that don't end up losing the club money. The more people in the stadium the less each one earns us, and we don't benefit from increased sales of food and drink.

I'd also suggest that we're a long way from hitting crowds of 20k Hull fans regardless of how cheap tickets get.

I think we should consider doing some family deals for certain matches, also some freebies for schools, a neighbour of mine is now a season pass holder with his daughter, they attended on a school freebie and enjoyed it that much they have attended ever since.

Shocking isn't it.....club owner asking stay at home fans to come and support their team for a derby game, I don't know how he has the gall!

It's a two way thing with AP and the fans. If we want him to invest money and help make us great again he needs bums on seats. He wants the crowd back up to 13k averages. I don't see what's wrong with that.

We very rarely spend in there, the odd bovril or pint, it is too expensive. I see most families around me taking there own sweets & drinks for the kids and rightly so no doubt saves them a fortune and helps towards the cost of their attendance.

I've said elsewhere, I bet the pubs will be full of people watching the game in Hull and Rovers shirts. No doubt spending more on ale than the price of a ticket.

I appreciate that i don't fully understand the percentage that FC get through things like food etc but surely you can see the point i was trying to make? And the comment about £60 season passes well at £15 a ticket like i proposed that would make the season 8 matches long! Yes i am being as ridiculous as your comment before you ask!!! I didn't ask for sarcasm i was merely stating a fact that AP has angered me as to why he is questioning the missing fans in times of financial hardship. I do feel that the club can do more to reduce ticket prices or are you suggesting that their hands are tied and are held to ransom if you like by the SMC???

And over the last 18 months we had thread after thread of "stay at home" "i aint buying a ticket/pass/fluffy toy" "hit em where it hurts"

Nobody wanted to admit the problem was Rule Kath et al.

Well people must have listened, gates went down, we remain very expensive to watch for the product. I dont blame him for his comments (I've not seen them yet)

As a side, if you all want to swipe at a rallying call, we've had them in the past, dont forget. Maybe you should petition for him to issue the same call to City fans to find their missing 7000

In AP we trust......

I don't have a problem with him trying to get the missing support back, I just hope he knows that it might take a season or two.

Indeed, well said

I cant believe people having a go at a chairman who speaks, who we see at games, who has (almost) brought the club back to the fans.

Would you rather have Kath driving up on friday in her Leeds car?

Unfortunately you have to 'put up with' a load of 'd1ck' replies from him (and others). icon_rolleyes.gif

They see themselves as the 'keepers' on here.
