| Half got my head around the prospect of them winning, but as we know, less fancied teams than Wires have managed to do the business. COME ON WANKY, make our day.

| Can't see anything other than a Rovers win, Warrington have some threats, but Rovers are a much better side and have the experience and winners in their side to get them home. If there mentality is right they win.

| Just remember the part we have played when they win. If we hadn't beaten wigan, it would be them lifting the cup, not the dobbins.
They owe us massively

I'm clutching at straws a bit here, but the last time Wire lifted the cup, in 2019, they did so by taking down a Saints side that looked to be on course for a treble. St Helens are obviously more versed in winning on the big occasion, but even they failed to turn up six years ago and were convincingly beaten in the end. That was probably the last time we had even a minor cup upset, so maybe we're due another one this afternoon So, who knows, maybe a spot of history repeating itself! If rovers don't win later today, they will have no-one to blame but themselves, no excuses. Everything looks stacked in their favour. If they fail, it will be because they can't handle the big moment when it arrives, everything is on their shoulders, no excuses from their side!!

| Hope the old adage that the losers who return the next season win holds true.

| Rovers will win today easy, be 20+. They've been building for this since Peters was announced.

I'll hazard a guess here and say that photo above was taken at the Yorkshire Cup Final, Boothferry Park (October '84). A favourite Derby, a storming comeback from 12-0 down (and being outplayed) to a rampant 29-12 victory (outplaying them by the end!!) with Sterling at the centre of most of our play that afternoon (when wasn't he at the centre of everything?). We met again later that season in the John Player final (Jan '85), also at Boothferry, but seem to recall the pitch was covered in snow (think it came close to being postponed) so I don't think the photo is taken from that particular game. Sterling and Knocker, unquestionably the two finest players I have had the pleasure of witnessing in my time wearing the famous shirt. For those who are too young to have seen them in their prime, I'm afraid you don't know what you missed. Both world-class players with an ability to change a game in an instant. We were so lucky they were ours, even if it was for only a short time. Oh, for their likes again to brighten our lives

| Sterling was an amazing player who literally dragged us to Wembley in 1985 but Norton is my all time favourite player. An absolute genius with ball in hand. There are quite a few games from that era on YouTube now. Well worth a watch
