All fair points. The council handing you the land is a big factor in the investors coming on board though, in an alternative plot line Hudgell could still be trying to sell Rovers or have given up losing money by now. But likewise the council getting a KCOM windfall and building the MKM was a stroke of luck for us (unlilkely that Hetherington and co wouldent haven bought us without it)


Money makes the world go round and both clubs are benefiting at present. Having sat through 90s games when both clubs could barely afford to stock the portakabin retail store I will enjoy the good times we are having.

I don't understand how Cust got a red card  even if he did make contact with morgue. 

He wasn't trying to make a tackle, he was running at speed to try and gather a loose ball as was morgue. There was no intent to wrap his arms or bend his back as he wasn't intending on making a tackle. 


They both had an equal part to play in an accidental clash, it just so happened that Morgue got the ball in his hands a fraction before Cust. If Cust had got the ball then went on to hit his head i would it still have been a red?


Seems incredibly harsh to me, especially as most of the strict rules from last year seem to have been quietly shelved until now.

Love the semtiment of the post and i cant wait for the next few years, although we wasn't handed anything for free, we bought the ground back for over £1m after selling it for a few hundred thousand and the surrounding land wasnt included and something we'll have to stump up for to build the training ground and amenities.

Back in 2005 Hull where getting gates of 16-17k Rovers 2.5k,  Rovers are getting gates of 11.2k Hull 13-14k. We've never since the 80s been on such an even footing and it's exciting. Whether our crowds take a dip is an unknown that Rovers will have to navigate but whats a surety is Jake will talk Rovers down that's his mindset, he'll constantly hit us with the big brother mentality and quote bank balances but what we know is the salary cap, we both will be spending up to the cap and both paying marquee players, it then comes down to coaching, the training and science.


I can't wait for the rivalry to step up a notch, hopefully it brings the best out of both clubs and rugby league as a sport benefits from it.

Commiserations on another derby defeat. There were certainly positives to take from your point of view and at 14-16 I admit I was worried. Rovers lifted and ran out comfortable winners but it was a genuine derby like we haven't seen for a while.


I have to ask why on earth has Cartwright given the goalkicking duties to Pryce who is clearly an inferior kicker to Sezer? As I say I was worried at 14-16 but had Sezer been kicking it would possibly have been 18-16 and the roof would have blown off.


As for the Cust incident it seems everyone accepts that it was an awful tackle and an automatic red card. The one exception being Cartwright but I expect on reflection he will think again. With Mourgue having to go off and face a HIA I expect Cust will be facing a lengthy spell on the side-lines.

As for the future I am perplexed as to why you could think that your out of town owners with no affection for your club will be willing to plough in money ad infinitum  They clearly will be in the short term but have pretty much made it clear that in 3 years tine they will be taking out.

They have more affinity to us than the likes of sewell and Kilburn have to rovers. Once the land is developed they'll be off.

As for cust, it was an unfortunate collision. Under the current rules a red card but he'll get no more than 2 games.
