Overall I'm still pleased despite defeat, we are laying the foundations with much better fitness, attitude and defence and if we keep on making the right signings we will be right up there next season.
It's frustrating that the fixtures are so lopsided as after a difficult game with Wigan we are then not at home until June. So it could be close to a year til we see a home win and we are a better side than that.
Hopefully this close end to the Wigan-Saints game tires Wigan out a bit as we had some tired legs at the end of the game today.
It's such a weird season in that sense so far. We've done really well but we haven't won at home yet. Quite unlucky in that of the 5 home fixtures we've had (or soon to have) its Leigh, Rovers x2 and Wigan x2! I can only hope we aren't planning on packing up for the year at the end of July like we have for a decade or so, as the final month we aren't leaving the city at all. Confident that Cartrights discipline won't allow them to switch off though.

So disappointing.I was actually confident we could win this game but indiscipline has let us down badly today. really thought we could ride the momentum when we pulled the score to within two points but the fatigue kicked in as did the indisciplne. Cant knock the effort as some players out on their feet but continued to give it all. As said by others why is Sezer not kicking goals? Would just like to see him vary his last tackle kicks and start to kick low and hard to the corners instead of giving the full backs easy takes from a high ball. Interesting to see how we cope now without Asiata for several weeks and with Cust likely to get a ban no doubt move Pryce back to 6. Ashworth played well today so expect him to start in the second row
Asiata will be fine, Cartwright said he and Amir came off due to fatigue and they needed fresher bodies on Sezer not kicking due to a slight tightness in his hamstring, hopefully Watts and Baron back for Wigan https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/hull-fc-injury-update-latest-10117309

Barron being back would be a boost as it would allow Briscoe to play centre and Rapana back to full back, if as expected Cust cops a ban and we need Pryce at 6.

| Ok. Dobbins still the better team today but where getting closer. I've no problem with Cust sending of if that sending is across the board. After Saints player does the same if worse clearly it's not .. We ran our socks of today and boy did we have them rattled . But you could see our energy fading. But we never stopped . Dobbins certainly did a number on Ese . Every tackle 4)5 players in. Ashworth Eseh made big yardage. All players deserve credit ....Wigan up next

| Sezer has a slight problem with his leg so that would explain Pryce kicking.

| Rapana seriously needs to up his game imo. Another very average display
I've been Esehs critic but though he did well, Ashworth also very good.
Hate the way we start using wingers as forwards right from our first set. Rovers first set has jwh running full pelt at us. It's prob why we start off so slow

| Don?t particularly have a problem with the sending off as it could have gone either way and probably looked worse than it really was.
What does gripe me is the penalty for the supposed late hit on s! Christ you?re not allowed to touch that guy?
Sezer was the victim of far worse last week at Warrington and never received a single penalty. Today we had battled back to 14-16 and was getting on top but that decision alone took all the momentum away from us and led to their last 2 tries.

| Every time someone tackles the little sh17, his arms are always waffling around looking for the penalty.

| Once the usual heartbreak has melted away a bit I have to say that performance wasn't that bad at all !!! I see we have the usual grumblers on here again but quite frankly I can't quite see how anyone can have anything but admiration for our efforts this afternoon. Here we are playing the best team in the comp and down to 12 men early on, (which in the modern game spells disaster for even the best) and yet we have the opposition coach coming to the touchline to rally his troops when in the middle of the second half they are in danger of being bettered by a 12 man opposition out on their feet. For me the progress we have made since last year is phenomenal and most fans appreciate that; you only have to see how many stayed when it was a lost cause. We have to celebrate the spirit, wanting and desire in this squad we have.
We made errors and fluffed our lines at times. But how potent are we these days with the ball in the opposition 20??? There were some massive efforts out there with players running for the shirt and the fans when most would have expected them to have expired much earlier. I was proud of the lads today and when we have had as long as the dobbins to build a team we are going to be some force in the game and the City of Hull could well again become the capital of rugby league. We are going to lose some this year, of course we are, but what a coach we have, watching it back he is just as enthusiastic as we all are when we score and its easy to see how the whole club is all together in it for us lot out there in the stands. I refuse to criticise anyone as is the case with Cust who perhaps could have done something, but the rules are the rules, however if I was running that fast I doubt I could have changed much!!! (me running not going to happen though so can't prove it!!!!) We Might have won that one on a level playing field, but when the best team in the leagues supporters cheer a sending off as much as they would winning a trophy it says a lot for how far we have come!!! On we go, but isn't it great to watch this team of ours this season. I'm loving it!!!

Asiata was running up and down the touchline after he came off. Looked fine. I thought it was cramp
It was the way he was holding his leg.I thought it was a hamstring injuryGood news if it is just cramp

Sorry Wilf but if you can?t criticise Cust then you need to go to specsavers Cust?s stupidity stopped us from having a great chance to win the match His tackle using the point of the shoulder was deliberate, and be because he made no attempt to tackle with his arms he had no defence The replay shows how he turned his shoulder into Morgue. He may not have meant to hit Morgue in the head but it was straight Red card when he did.
