Lets have top4 clashes, semi finals and finals. If we are being honest a lot of the games in the SL era have been non events for those outside the city like 6th vs 10th with neither side going near Old Trafford.
Apart from the 2010 play-off game, this one feels like it's all on the line for both clubs within the same derby, a real winner takes all feel to it. As you say, too many of the derbies post-2006 have had a mid-table air about them rendering them of only passing interest to neutrals. Not sure how my nerves would stand up to cup final derby these days when everything really would be at stake, but it would be nice to find out! In todays world of where there’s blame there’s a claim no one will want to put their head on the chopping block be it the SMC, Council, Police or the RFL in terms of sanctioning the go ahead if the proverbial hit the fan again. Sad but thems the facts and once again a minority of eejits have ruined it for the majority of decent fans. Safety concerns will always be an easy out for those with the power.

Lots of gnashing of teeth east of the city over their allocation
Understandibly, but this isn't our decision. Looks like the smc(not surprisingly) and hcc have put the boot in.

As I said earlier Chris if you were in that West Stand when the missiles started raining down all of which was carried on video's which spread like wildfire you can see why no-one want sanction such arrangements again. It was scary with kids screaming and mothers covering kids heads and it's still raw. Just a shame for all the decent Robins fans who can't get tickets as again the few spoil it for the many!!

The stadium wasn't designed with derby's in mind either in 1999 the idea of both clubs playing a sellout Derby wasn't even in either fanbases dreams as both clubs were skint and clinging on for survival. Another issue is the SMC by design doesn't ever think outside of the box, if they make a profit they have to share it with the council so the mentality has for years now just been 'break even, don't do anything risky' which is why we've had no concerts, rarely get international rugby or football u21s etc anymore. Plenty of clubs seat away fans above home fans, Newcastle and Sunderland being two examples so it can be done.

Mike Ross could walk down Holderness Road with an A Board saying 'I did it' and they'd still be commenting 'FC won't give us tickets' sigh

Wouldn't want that jeopardising.

I personally think it’s sad that an occasion such as this can’t be enjoyed as it should and many decent fans will miss out. What the KR fans seem to be missing is this isn’t going to be just a regular run of the mill derby like a league game. Emotions will be running higher than anything we’ve seen in years in what is a knockout do or die game. The chances of some kind of trouble are sadly pretty high and with the recent history both FC & KR no matter if they both pleaded would make no impact on this decision. They can bleat all they like about it but this decision has nothing to do with FC and more about a very small section of their fanbase spoiling it for the majority of decent fans.

Spot on, the council could put restrictions in place at Craven Park, Connexin Live or any venue in their area if they forsee a safety risk. One thing both clubs need to do is get on with prioritising fans with points for how many away games they've been to. For example anyone who took a punt on going to Catalan in the cold for round 1 not knowing if our bad days were over deserves to be higher up the queue for away tickets than me who rarely goes away. Football clubs have done this for years.

| A few idiots spoiling things for the majority as usual. Thankfully any lost income is pocket change for thirkill and hood so no damage done.
You have to laugh though, the latest one is that we are worried about them turning it into a home game for the hence the decision

| Makes me laugh their fans saying they'd outnumber us at our own ground, we still had higher attendances last season despite our worst season in living memory. It must hurt knowing they'll always be the annoying little neighbours.
After a couple of years most if their bandwagon followers will disappear and they'll be back to having 6K at home.
