| Dave K.:Yes, but that would still only be 5 years, think also it also has to be 6 years continuous in SL to count. So someone like Sezer it wouldn't count as he had a year back in the NRL. For the Saints fan, what are your thoughts on Batchelor, for me a good signing and improvement on what we have, still not a bad age. From a purely selfish perspective, I would be very pleased if Saints let Batchelor go. But thats more about us having a bit of a warchest this season with a lot of deadwood (Hurrell, Ritson, Mbye, Bell) moving on meaning we should be targeting some pretty high profile replacements. At one point it looked like Batchelor was going to be the premier backrower in the competition (the magic game against Wigan was a definite high point) so theres no doubt hes talented, but it feels like hes been one of those players who ever since we won in Aus decided that was the career highlight and it was job done - couple that with a frustrating few years with niggly injuries and its been frustrating all round. I actually think him moving to Hull and getting some rivalry going with his brother would do him the world of good breaking out of that malaise but thats something we cant offer him. If you can get him back to his best he will do an incredible job for you, and there arent many fed trained backrowers like him - able to run a line and bust a tackle. If he stays as he is, he will still be alright, but you will just be wracked with what could have been.

It's not looking great with Salford at the minute that's for sure, with the missed/overdue payment of players wages then the real threat of a pts deduction should now come in to force along with further sanctions. I feel sorry for the players & staff who are caught up in this along with the fans. Reading some stuff some of their fans have it in for Shaw with his reporting on the issues, I'm no fan of Shaw myself but the blame for all of this lays with those in charge of operating Salford. They are pretty much radio silent with very little information being forthcoming which doesn't help their cause, as we know ourselves from recent experience.

| Surely the rfl do some due diligence on prospective club owners? I thought this new owner was some mega rich Swiss banker? Where's the money?

| Sections reinstated on them again now officially, only allowed 1.2mill on the cap again. This is going to end in tears for salford and rugby league

This is going to end in tears for salford and rugby league It makes a farce of the whole competition. Teams are at a real advantage playing them with a reduced salary cap (e.g. St Helens in round 1). What if, come the end of the season, points difference dictates who makes the top 6 and who doesn't? (Not suggesting that may be us incidentally!)

They'll be taking on Salford's kids this weekend. Makes a mockery of the league.

| The whole situation with Salford is way beyond a joke now. The whole 2025 season now has little to no integrity due to the gaping chasm in teams playing Salford under sanction than later if or when sanction are removed. It’s got to the point already where every teams results including the for & against in scores against Salford do not count come the end of the season similar to when Toronto folded. If the RFL do not do this then how can the final league positions have any credence or legitimacy and how do you say who is justified in being in the top 6 if it’s a close run thing? Surely along with sanctions Salford should now face a significant pts deduction. I don’t think their lack of honesty, accountability or communication is or has done them any favours either. If I were a Salford player that had an offer but weren’t allowed to leave previously I’d be pretty disgruntled to say the least.

| Salford must be sailing close to the wind with them been in breach of contract with the players.. Sounds like the players have had enough. Hopefully we're talking to some of the agents.
