|
If the quota exemption is implemented does anyone think we should be in for Lafai?
His contract expires at the end of this season so I would guess there's no need for a multi year deal. Hasn't got the pace of Cross but he's a far better player and we were interested last season.[/quote:3khv2tou]
Salford have three of the best centres in S/L
I would take any one of them above Cross if they became available under an exemption
Lafai is a wings dream centre and would be great alongside Martin and Barron. No slower than Hardaker of Chamberlain but we do need some pace at centre so my choice would be Marsters.

| From John Davidson:
[i:2q489b2n]King has revealed that there is a group still interested in buying the Red Devils with talks progressing but concedes if a takeover is not completed before Tuesday, January 21, then the club will be forced to sell its stars.
“We’re waiting for an offer to come through on Saturday," he said.
“It is promising, we’re expecting an offer in the next few days and then it’s a case of how quickly we can move on that. We have to get approval from the CBS board at that point, and then we’ll move forward on that.[/i:2q489b2n]
Matt Shaw also mentioned SL clubs are meeting on Wednesday to discuss cap and quota dispensations.
Probably won't see any major moves until the week after you'd imagine

|
What makes you think that your new owners would want to pay a transfer? They didn't offer one for Liam Byrne did they.[/quote:blcoaju8]
They offered £100k but he wants to stay over there so is going to wire in 2026 for free

Let's hope they get some investment. The sport can't afford to have clubs go to the wall

Paying a transfer fee wasn't going to get Byrne out of Wigan for 2025 anyway - the club doesn't need the money so no reason to start the year a prop short.
