Quote: BP1 "It's going to be tough at times and we'll lose more than we win but I'm looking forward to next season when I never thought I ever would be! We could all club and fans be on a journey together and that's exciting. '"
PS Some really thought promoting and insightful posts on this thread of late but don't get me on clubs allegedly fiddling the IMG stuff there seems to be a new revelation every day reading about the Leigh stuff yesterday and the Cas stuff the day before is just appalling really, but our administration has no control.'"
Great Post Wilf, as ever (You must have risen about 5am in order to start typing the latest epic!!
I'll admit at the end of last season I don't think I'd ever felt so low, so disenchanted, disillusioned, disappointed, disengaged etc in over 40+ years of following FC. However I can say that I don't think I've felt so enthused about an upcoming season and beyond for years, certainly not since it was announced we'd signed Gaz Ellis.
Whilst I the news of Myler coming in as DoR was very much out of left field, I wasn't too concerned as he's been a pretty successful player, playing in some high profile teams. Also in the back of my mind was the fact the club had previously put trust and faith in a recently retired player in Motu and the job he did was none too shabby. That said I think the state of the club as a whole, the shocking situation regards to the playing side of things both Coaching/Support staff & player wise was going to be a tough job even for an experienced guy. However Myler has done and is doing a very respectable job in putting right the wrongs and leading the club in turning things around.
It could be that his inexperience and freshness have played a part in what has happened so far.
He certainly comes across very well and he's honest when he speaks about situations. I don't think anything is lost on him and its clear that unity within the club is an important ingredient that he's working to, across every aspect & level of the club.
For once the club itself actually seems to be singing from the same hymn sheet which is one of the most refreshing signs of change. The fact that Myler, Cartwright and Thirkill along with most fans seem to have the same realisations/expectations about the next year or two is also a positive.
Whilst any success isn't going to happen over night, I think everyone can see from whats been happening and is continuing, is that there is not just real change but a structured plan coupled with a genuine desire to deliver and achieve success.
Nothing is guaranteed in terms of success as has been alluded to by RM, JC & AT but with the above in place I think the club have done and are doing more than enough to earn the backing of the fans.

| I see that the website has been updated with the new squad profiles as well as the off field staff.
Looks much better than the 2024 profiles with them wearing that crap, plain off white gear.
I notice that Gareth Ellis has the job title of "Player Development Manager" also there's a Strength and Conditioning coach called John Weatherill (is he new?) . [EDIT - no he's been at the club a couple of years]
Kiran Evans is listed as an assistant physiotherapist but I believe he's now left the club.

| Jordan Abdull should take a look at Jed Cartwrights physique and aspire to that!
Balmforth looks like he’s holding his stomach in lol
You can see those who need to add more muscle and hopefully by mid Feb those players are in their best shape
