I dont wanna knock Adam but fresh money is needed and it does look like that is about to happen..
I remember him saying when appointing TS, that this would be his last coaching appointment.. 2yrs ago now ?.. takeovers dont just happen overnight so probably he was in early disscussions back then to sell the club!.
How do you make money out of Hull FC when we dont own the ground ,?.. that topic has been talked about before on here.... Personally think Adam has done right for us in the main and i believe that any debt that has popped up he has tried to pay it off as quickly as possible.. just my take on it.
QuoteTarquin Fuego="Tarquin Fuego"I actually did spill the beans months ago when
I received an email from the Club and I knew then
that we were going to be saved.
I couldn’t name the source but it’s all come true.
We are SPENDING over a million surely than
Our normal budget
Look at the additions to the wage bill ! Now and next season'"
Fair enough if you have inside information and are confident in that fair play, I just didn’t see how someone could make that conclusion from what’s in the public domain.
The million pound extra spend I find hard to believe personally, I know it’s not all playing staff but what we’ve brought in still seems bottom of the table budget to me. I hope your right and just hope any extra spending is sustainable and keeps the club secure long term.
In regards to Adam Pearson as the Owner and Custodian of this once great club he has to take the ultimate responsibility for the situation the club is in. He will always be regarded quite rightly as the one that delivered 2 of the clubs greatest days and the ultimate achievement of funding a team that removed the Wembley monkey from our backs. He has also saved the clubs existence through Covid, which is no mean feat and as a business owner myself going through Covid when you do not have any income yet still have to honor payments, believe you me it is and was not easy and takes a huge toll on you personally.
Anyone that says he should be gone needs to have a think about the Covid situation alone before making such frankly ridiculous statements.
But for all the good he has done and overseen, my word there is also a lot of pretty awful stuff he has over seen and is accountable for.
I think he was poorly advised at the start by McRae who very few would have said shouldn't be trusted, he should have stuck with Gentle and binned Radford, instead he did the opposite, then just kept Radford on for far too long, placed far too much faith in him probably because of the playing squad & characters in the squad pre 2018. Once those players started to leave and their collective abilities were broken up and individual abilities where starting to come to wain Pearson needed to have been acting, but he failed to make the tough calls needed. The calls weren't just ones in regards the playing staff but also in the running of the club and support he had at board level, Tony Sutton & Leigh Jenkinson 2 huge misses off field, along with Motu, instead he over appointed Clark etc.
Hindsight is a truly wonderful thing but looking back I strongly believe the die was cast when he sacked Gentle and appointed Radford, the rest they say is history.
If Adam hadn't have come along I doubt we'd be any better, quite possibly worse off or gone altogether, so love him or hate him without him its fair to say we'd have been screwed and I'm thankful for that though that doesn't mean I am not holding him to account.
Its a tough slog on your own and with only your own money, we only have to look across the city of that evidence and the difference its made to them with other investment being made into a club both in terms of finance and at board level.
QuoteSebasteeno="Sebasteeno"He does talk in interviews now in a strange way. Like Myler is in charge of the club now and Pearson is an employee.'"
It's because he doesn't take accountability, he now has someone else who he can pass the blame to in Myler who ultimately cops the slack on social media, rather than the one who has overseen the sad demise of this club.
It isn't often I use the word hate for someone, but I have had a genuine hatred for Pearson for years. His attitude and demeanour reflects why we are such a laughing stock in this sport. We had some bad results prior to Radford's departure, however his sacking on live TV has proved to be a significant turning point in this clubs recent history, everything since that point has been negative, bad managers, bad staff, bad players, bad results, reducing pass numbers and attendances.
The one thing that has kept this club going is the core group of supporters it has, it stayed loyal during covid and has been patient during quite frankly shocking times, however more and more fans who i consider as 'hardcore' are giving up and losing interest, without them this club is nothing. Have we ever had an apology from Pearson? has there ever been a fans forum where he can at least talk and explain to fans on the situation? No, he sits in silence until its pass sales time to tell us about the amazing 6ft aussies we've signed.
Going back to Covid, every other SL side survived the Pandemic, some such as Rovers, Salford and Leigh are now flying. Why? because their owners weren't afraid to source outside investment. Pearson has been the sole owner of a club in a minority sport for 12 years, and then complains about how little money there is and the financial burden placed on his shoulders. The decision to seek outside investment should have been made years ago, the 2016-17 team should of been the selling point, instead he took the glory for himself and remained a sole owner.
I just don't believe a single word that comes out of his mouth anymore, at least we are now finally getting investment, but is it really going to be significant as originally suggested? Nobody really knows, its cloak and dagger like it has been for years. I will be happy when he finally leaves the club.

Good post and I echo everything you say, I can't stand the bloke and don't believe a word he says, even to the point I don't even read his dribble anymore.
QuoteB0NES="B0NES"The more this season drags on , The more I feel cheated .'"
I don't feel cheated at the start of the season I said we needed a 7 to guide us round the park and it would be a long hard season but I really didn't think we'd have only won 3 games but expected bottom four finish, we've cut corners and done everything on the cheap and it's caught up to us now.
QuoteJake the Peg="Jake the Peg"If anyone has around £2.5m sat doing nothing and wants to repay his loans to the club I'm sure pearson will be happy to step aside'"
If he's hoping for repayment via club profits then he'll be waiting a long time. Even when the club is firing we only make a small profit and crowds are about to nose dive.
If he has no money to offer what else is he offering as Owner/CEO? It certainly isn't good staff recruitment skills we can say that for certain.

He doesn't take a salary, the club is presumably paying back the debt it owes him
He isn't going to walk away without getting his money back so any investment would need to take that into account, either pay him off or keep him around whilst the debt gets paid down as and when it can be afforded
