Quote: Offy86 "People saying about Reynolds over cust. If we had announced that we had signed Reynolds on a 1 or 2 year deal, these threads would've exploded. Yes he would be cheaper and yes a we would've had a quota space, but I'm not having it that Reynolds is better then Cust.
I'm not saying Cust is a world beater etc but he is better then Reynolds.

Most in here were saying 'good signing until the end of the season''"

Pleenty said when reynolds was here he'd go OK as a back up next year. Cust is injury prone and it looks like we'll end up with him at hooker when he isn't a specialist there. He's an overseas player so takes up a quota spot and will come on a decent chunk of money. Not a great signing imo. Definitely better than reynolds but the overall package not good value for money for me

Quote: Chris71 "I’d say a big factor is the weak mental strength that seems to be ingrained in the fabric of the team when it comes to adversity. Most teams find it galvanises them and they complete much harder, whereas we just crumble and fold at the slightest excuse.

What’s more concerning for me about Saturdays result and performance was it was the one game the squad and Coach had to get right and be up for the battle. We saw from the performance both on the field and by Grix as the stand in HC that we just weren’t anywhere near in any aspect be it effort, desire, pride or intelligence. Places for next season should not be taken for granted by the likes of Lane, Fash & Sao for example.

Myler and Cartwright have one hell of a job on their hands come pre season.'"

IMO.
Mental strength is collectively cultivated during pre-season, the likes of Bellamy & Maguire are renowned for their torturous pre- seasons, this creates determination , teamwork, motivation etc.
We didnt have this type of pre season, because simply, we didnt have the necessary support staff.

hopefully this will now change

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_8082.jpg

I agree to an extent but don't think its because we simply didn't have the support staff, think its been a long standing issue even under Radford, then in a laid back weak inexperienced Coach in Hodgson followed by a Coach who seemed to have lost interest and desire and again too laid back.
There has simply being no accountability since the end of 2018 from top to bottom and by the sounds of it, very much sulky attitudes if anyone got told judging by Aydins comments in the HDM today, which just confirms what most of have said for long enough.
It's all been just far too easy and a comfortable environment without consequences or accountability almost as though failure is acceptable. With Cartwright incoming we will hopefully see seismic changes if he is the no nonsense type of guy/Coach he appears & reported to be.

they'll all be on social media calling out the toxic working conditions at the club if someone upsets them. No wonder we're in the state we're in. Some of them need to grow a backbone
