| Mixed feelings really for me . There is no doubt the spirit and work is now in our game again; think with a strike centre and proper seasoned halfback we’d have beaten them . Sao played very well but spoils his game with penalties and Aydin is a great pick up , a real workhorse and competitor . Rovers wouldn’t trouble the top 2 on that showing, gives me hope for next season with Abdul and a couple of other signings , hopefully to add to the mix . I’m not sure I’d be signing a fullback , between Litten and Moy we have enough and I’d go all out for a pacer outside back and half . Great effort today and cannot fault the effort . That’s all we could ask really.

| Considering the side we side we put out against almost a full strength Rovers side it’s not been the hammering we would have suffered before Smiths departure.
If we’d had a bit more guile/craft and started the game better instead of waiting for 20 minutes before we found our feet.
Certainly lots of positives.
Litten coming on for Carlos (looks like another injury) made a difference with his pace.
Moy and Lewis look better each game, difficult game for Charles but still didn’t let anyone down.
Just our habit of slow starting has again cost us.
Mixed feelings really disappointed to suffer another loss to them but not too disappointed with the result as the performance by and large was there. Though still some dumb/poor play and bit of inexperience to work on.

| Considering everything this again was a really gutsy performance. Good crowd and atmosphere to. Lads definitely didn't leave anything out. Obvious we need to bolster our squad which we are well on the way to. Adyin Ese Soa carried the pack . Trueman showing with a decent team around him can be a very good half. Youngsters did well but lane Gardiner smith all looked championship players. Tuim times has run. Still feeling confident if we can add a couple of good signings we will improve a lot next year

| Great effort but lacking in quality. I think if ashworrh and cartwright were playing it would have been a different game but we lack quality at half back, centre and 2nd row

Think this is a pretty fair assessment. At times we moved the ball well but with 0 penetration. Need some forwards that can break the line and halves to take it on a bit more.
Huge positives today, despite a disappointing result. The big ones being the number of academy players that stood up and Davy littens performance. I’ve been critical of him after his early promise but he had a very good game today.

| We needed to make a good start and never, we were behind the 8 ball for much of the first half, much better second period but just not good enough at cracking rovers defence.

| Thought Trueman went well once our forwards got a foot all. But we have no strike players running of him. Charles isn't ready yet imo. But given time the kid as definitely got talent

I have a creeping nagging feeling that we might just pull this one out of the bag.
'"
So much for 'creeping nagging feelings'!!
That's the problem with trying to stay positive during dark times, it has a habit of blowing up in your face like an unexploded WW2 German bomb!!!
The game was effectively decided in the opening quarter. They came out with all guns blazing right from the start and we simply failed to match them for energy and commitment. 18-0 is a long way back even with an hour still to play.
At least we hung in there and made a contest of it the further the game went on. Took our tries well and for a few minutes I thought rovers looked a touch jittery. It would have become very interesting if we had managed to score another, but their defence was very tight and our lack of creativity in the middle remains one of our major issues, as it has been in recent weeks.
It was a pity conceding that last minute try, but think the score reflected the overall game in the end. Unfortunately their better quality was the deciding factor. The effort is there from us (no complaints on that aspect once again) but we are a bottom-end side, pure and simple, and we're up against it when we face decent opposition. Let's hope we have better days to come soon.

| Horrific start but to be fair they showed character to stem the tide and avoid another nilling which was looking likely.
Ese'ese, Aydin both really impressive again. Litten very busy and keen to get involved when he came on. Fash let the side down with his brain fart, he supposed to be a senior player setting a good example for the youngsters but Minchella wound him up and he fell for it.
Well done to Rovers on the win. They are a good side but not a great side. They might prove me wrong with some tough games coming up. Saints, Warrington and Wigan away and Catalans at Magic. I think they'll finish fifth and another trophyless season.

Agree completely, id go for a big EseEse style prop and a Centre (if Cust is coming as cover for the halves) Moy hasnt put a foot wrong and should be our no1 for years to come

We had decent possession and territory throughout the second half, but once again our movement was so slow whenever we were inside their 25. Their defence was well organized and difficult to break down, but we simply don't ask enough questions when we are in these situations. A lot of lateral movement but zero penetration as you say.
Our lack of power in the forwards and creativity in the middle, allied to our painfully slow ptb, makes it very easy for defences to read us. If we had scored a third try quickly after the second then it might have become very interesting, but all of our long-standing issues, especially with ball in hand, where there for all to see once more this afternoon. Until we can inject some higher quality into this area it's going to continue to be an issue I'm afraid.
The effort is there but lack of attacking threat is a problem which will not be easily solved unfortunately.
