Think the club were lucky they didn’t get the ban increased.
Strange decision to appeal.

| I think people are saying lane isn't the greatest and never will be. But we are asking this team to leave nothing on the pitch. Certainly lane hasn't done that. The kid isn't a world beater and I think we need better. But ATM hes getting stuck in and doing his best to his ability.

Right, our other back up 2nd rows. Competition is good. Stavely was great last week but Severs isn't fully fit yet. If those two move ahead of Lane in the pecking order then we are gonna need another scapegoat.

Hmm, not sure if that’s true or just a lazy analysis based on human nature. I would like to think and from the evidence of Carlos’s several years with us that he puts 100% in all the time. Hard to do when your calf muscle might ping at any time.

| Quote davey41="davey41"I’m sorry but his performances are not good enough.
I get no pleasure from pointing out this fact and would love him to eradicate these errors and get back to the form he showed in his early days.
He used to be a decent Super League forward.
He made a poor attempt at tackling the young stand off in the lead up to their first try. This was in the first 10 minutes.'"
Exactly this, we can't be accepting mediocracy, maybe Lane had a better game than a few games last season, but he was still average at best, granted he made a lot of tackles against Warrington (mainly as he played hooker for a spell), but as you say, was responsible for the first try, in which he was tackling a 19 year old halfback. I want more from our forwards than a few tackles too, I want them to be making makes, making meters after contact and offloading, he has done none of these this season. Both him and Ockunbor are under pressure to perform.

| People are saying that they're entitled to an opinion, and that's quite true. However Tony Smith is also entitled to an opinion and with all due respect his opinion is worth more than anyone on here.

Unfortunately Smith cam only pick a side from what he available, as it stands Lane will play, hopefully when we get some bodies back then Lane will be a squad player and gets in his he earms it based on performance.

Absolutely.
I would love to sit down with him and discuss what he sees and what he knows.
We don’t see players day in day out at training.
But I stand by the errors I have pointed out and my opinion that it is not good enough.
A couple of fans have said that he has been good in their opinion but that is being very generous as far as I’m concerned.

| I have found myself being pretty critical of Lane, and it is justified in my opinion. He really hasn't kicked on from the promise he showed when he broke through, if anything he has regressed pretty badly. He made 50+ tackles on Friday, granted, but was at fault for two try's, and unfortunately that is a common theme for him. He is far too weak, and with being at the risk of been a bit brutal, is Championship fodder. Would much rather Staveley/Severs get a chance to show their worth.
But, what I will say about Lane, is that he is another example of the utterly shocking contracts we have handed out over recent seasons. For that the club only has itself to blame.
