Killed a few hours this morning

People are trying to pick apart AP's interview, and I can't help but think he has got the numbers wrong.

9 players in, 7 of which we know.
He said 5 coming in from NRL/Australia - 3 of which are announced. Which suggests that the 2 signings we don't know about, are the extra 2 coming in from NRL/Australia - but we don't have 2 quota spots.

I cannot see any English players in the NRL coming to us to make those numbers AP mentioned true. However, Huddersfield have found a non-quota 9 from the Roosters so maybe that is the route.

He also said we will have 5 forwards 6'4" or above next year - Ese'Ese, Pele, Okunobor, Ashworth....who is the 5th?

we need to pay carlos off,was a waste of a quota spot this season and will be again next season.

My personal opinions are that i think the 5th he will be referring to is Damel Diakhate. Currently he's only been on trial with us, so if we offer him a deal he will technically be a new signing. I'm not sure on his height at all, but he looks a big lad so I'm just making the assumption.

I also think the 5th NRL player will be Bailey Hodgson. Local lad who should be fairly cheap and will provide further squad depth.

We have played Moy and Charles there in the Reserves, but not sure if their best positions are 9 (Moy), and 6 (Charles) - so perhaps Hodgson will take the 1 role for the Reserves, if we sign him

Hopefully Cooper John's can save our season

Don't some of our fans think he's been the best centre in the league for years

He's also listed on Wikipedia as a centre (not sure how good he is there). Somebody mentioned that a deal for Oli Pratt is no longer happening, so we could maybe be offering one to Hodgson instead.

It's not necessarily a signing I want us to make, just what I could see as an option given we're out of quota spots and looking at other NRL options. Seems to most likely to happen.

Felt quite pleased when I read Dan's comment about John's, just something I didn't like about him, even his highlights (which should be spectacular) where only ok.

Although this relief might turn to despair depending on who we sign.

Still hoping for Watson or Volkman.

Has Hawkins definitely signed a new deal?
