| Quote bonaire="bonaire"if we are unsuccesful replacing Clifford with a like for like then maybe play a waiting game to see if Casleford go down and then make a move for Broadbent to play six and use Trueman as the play maker. We also have the option of playing Hoy at six if all else fails.
Then if we do find a playmaker halfback sometime next season as a loan or end of season signing with Broadbent we would still have a very talented, versatile and a player with pace on our hands.
If Jacob Miller has been here now 10 years would he still be classed as an overseas player on the quota?'"
With the quota players, It all depends on where you played your junior rugby. Miller played in aus so counts as a "non federation trained" player.
Think Leigh got around it with Lam because he played for someone like Wigan St Pats when he dad was playing over here

| Quote bonaire="bonaire"dont understand why the club keep feeding the HDM with snippets but dont announce anything themselves.
They should be using Hull FC live as the vehicle to announce any new signings, general discusion or important announcements before releasing to the media so that fans always come first.
That way they would get the majority of FC fans also having a subscription to FC live which if marketed correctly could raise a substantial amount of money'"
Again I’m not sure the club are providing HDM with snippets. I get up to date news emails, albeit offers from the shop but also match day reviews etc. because I’m a pass holder. When the club have anything to announce regards signings, I’ll probably get the news fist hand. If you want to be in the know, nearly said “the cuddle crew” get a pass, voila (threw that one in because I know you have a smattering of other languages oops another emoji, I’m on form today for an old fart.

| Quote Hullrealist="Hullrealist"Equally he’s an Aussie half with no allegiance to any super league club. He’ll go where he’s offered the most money. Theo fage was on ridiculous money and it’s his replacement.
So there is a good chance hudds offered more than both Hull and Leeds considering we have to manage our cap space over 8 signings'"
Always said fages looked better in a top saints side than he actually is

Wouldn't touch broadbent and Miller especially
Broadbent looks OK in a very average cas team
Need a aussie to replace clifford

| If Matt Shaws article is to be believed then I’d say both ourselves & Leeds may have dodged a bullet with Clune. Though I’d be more likely to think Huddersfield have offered over the odds compared to both ours and Leeds valuation.and possibly coming as a marquee player.
Wouldn’t say it’s a great article by Shaw, he certainly seem to come across as a little anti Hull.

| Matt Shaw is trying desperately to keep a lid on his disregard for Hull. He only just contains himself.
The standard of RL journalism is pretty poor TBH nowadays. They write like they’re doing a Facebook post,
Not that fussed on Clune really. If he came - fine. Now he isn’t - also fine.

I don’t think Hoy is on as much money as we assume. I was told that the reason we didn’t sign walker was Hoy was considerably cheaper. He wanted game time.
Same bloke also told me that the reason Hoy’s had so much trouble is because the medical staff misjudged it and tried to make him run with it immediately

| What Matt Shaw fails to notice is that it is a sign that we aren’t just going out and paying over the odds for a player anymore (Reynolds being the main example). The club looks to finally be learning from its past mistakes, if a player expects more than we value them, then we move on to the next target. It’s refreshing. It’s how business in a salary cap sport should be done. This view however clearly doesn’t suit his narrative.

A couple of Matt Shaw’s recent pieces on Hull Live could have been written by Keith they are so pro Rovers and anti Hull.
He builds up every Rovers signing in a way a blinkered fan would. Only comments on us when a rumoured target signs for someone else.
Then he did that piece on how our attendance had fallen from the first game of the season without mentioning how our levels are pretty impressive and overall very good compared to other teams.
