They really are trying, on and off the pitch and that attendance for a Saturday, was great to see. I think the supporters have gauged what we are trying to achieve and will always support honest endeavour, even when the team is getting beaten, rather than watching a humiliation, as we have all witnessed previously. Against the very top teams, we have done well this season. There are not many years we can say we have beaten Saints , Wigan, Warrington & Leeds, and while we were beaten by a better side on Saturday, they never gave up, which is all we ask. If we can make three or four good off season signings, Smith can take us up the table and to where we think we should be. I appreciate we are balancing the books, after Covid wiped out our income and nearly did for us, but according to AP, if the crowds stay healthy, it shouldn't be long before we balance things out, which is an achievement in itself, considering the parlous state that some other clubs are in, after the pandemic. If they didn't have rich, benevolent owners, they would struggle to remain solvent, given that media incomes are reducing and not many clubs attract the following we do.
