I would certainly take Whitley. I think he is quite underrated . He isn’t a marquee signing but I think he would be a very useful addition

Is it your ignorance or petty bias that makes you say that. Luis Johnson is an excellent player that unfortunately was injured most of last season. On return to fitness he was unfortunate that we had recruited well and he did not get the chance to impress.

He’s not exactly pulled up trees, been out on loan to various clubs and had injury issues. He’s not stood out at kr much either

Terrible is a bit harsh. I wouldn't have him as a starter, but as MR says would be a good depth signing. Unless Staveley /Armstrong etc are seen as ready for next season

On loan at Cas this season, that’s all after his injury problems last year. Before the injury he was playing well. It depends what you mean by pulling up trees. No he is not of international standard but then few are. If pulling up trees is your standard for signings FC will not be making many. He would be an improvement on both Fash and Cator so signing him would improve your squad.

My original post was to Smiggs who said he is a terrible player. He definitely is not and if that is his genuine assessment he understands little about the game.

We don't need squad fillers we need bona-fide starters. Our starting 17 is nowhere near good enough for this league. The players we currently have are mostly depth. Signing someone of his limited ability will not improve our situation, but just perpetuate it.

And resigning Fash and Cator will improve the situation? All they offer is energy and enthusiasm. Luis offers that plus rugby skills but you seem too blinkered to acknowledge that. Compared to Kane Linnett and James Batchelor yes he has limited ability and that’s the issue about him getting game time. Compared to Fash and Cator who are in your match day squad when available he’s a stand out.

Having said that it’s probably academic as I wouldn’t think he’d consider you anyway.

No but he could well have better options. It depends I suppose on his relationship with Smith who signed him for Wire and Rovers. He obviously rates Luis which is more than some on here do.

I notice you didn’t question the rest of my post. Fash who wouldn’t even get in most SL squads received all those awards at the end of 2022. A journey man at best seen as the stand out player at your club. As most are still with you that must say something about the squad and they are still being resigned.
