Reading the HDM comments is very amusing. A couple of FC fans still in denial that your franchise isn't in precarious state. The positive strides made over at CP are hard to stomach. We have surpassed you and on opposite trajectories now. Still early days but our goals are now loftier than just winning the derbies. Granted us fans will still put extra value on those points but we will start looking upwards not behind us at failing business's as Hull City's owner described you lot.
Hard putting any positive spin on this even for the FC loving local media. Freezing your tatties off on the mud won't sit well with Taylor's inner circle of players. No stadium or training facilities of your own. No capital just booming costs and mounting arrears each season. Dire times but if all you can afford is a trip to Clee and a bag of chips then that's as good as it gets. Reading of Tex Hoys reservations over leaving Aus I'm sure that will make things much clearer for him.

wonder if its part of the new lease agreement, we weren't getting use of the facilities we were paying good money to use/play in

also noticed in the interview with Pearson, the only debt the club has is the loan to the government!

Technically it’s a loan from the RL, I believe. The government handed a lump sum to the RL and they made cash sums available to those clubs that applied. I wonder when the cash has to be paid back to the government because this will impact the RL. Are they in a position to reimburse without the clubs coughing up. If the clubs need to reimburse prior to the loan being paid back, I can see a few clubs floundering.

The RFL took on responsibility for administering the loans, along with Sport England and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

That was 2020 and loans worth a further £16.7 million were made available to the men’s professional game in 2021, alongside £1.45 million in grants to the community game.

The terms of repayment were not made public but I haven’t seen anything suggesting that the RFL acted as a guarantor… or, in fairness, that they didn’t.

When Rugby Union club Wasps went bust, the tax payer took the hit for their £14.1 million COVID survival package loan going unpaid, suggesting that the RFU wasn’t responsible for repayments.

Quote: Armavinit "Haven’t you ever seen how they water the pitch before games and at half-time for football. I’ve often commented how the arena smells like a pond. City practice on it all season, it’s not like FC are going to tear the pitch apart, practicing on it.'"

The pitch was in a right state last season before a rugby ball was kicked !

A tad site better than Headingley, the only thing they can practice doing on that pitch is making sandcastles.
