| Interesting times ahead after the Derby humbling.
Pearson alluded to purging others from the club , I would imagine Taylor and Houghton may be on that list.. Their best years are well behind them and in Dwyer you definitely have a more dynamic player and a good fit for Tony Smiths style of play.....should he accept the job.

| Quote Chris71="Chris71"Reading the statement regarding Hodgson being relieved of his duties its sounds as though the club may well have already been making plans for a replacement should results and performances in June carry on as had and most likely after the Leeds capitulation at home.
To be fair to Pearson he seems to have Hodgson and Purtill every chance to turn things around by providing extra money for loan players and until the end of the season but the total humiliation of Saturday will have been far too much for anyone to stomach.
I just hope Adam has learnt a lesson now and gets the right guy in that has a proven track record and experience and can also move on some of the players than seem entrenched in dishing out poor performances and thinking they are untouchable.'"
Yep, Pearson, despite financial struggles backed Brett, by releasing Reynolds and bringing in 4 players. He has failed, this squad and the amount invested should have at least challenged for the play offs. That along with poor recruitment last season and no signs on improvements on the field has forced Pearsons hand.

Exactly and while I can't say I one of Wanes biggest fans you can not deny he gets results and gets players to perform to a high level consistently and does not accept mediocrity or failure. With the playing roster falling so far below any acceptable standards it has to be someone like him that wont stand for any ego's within the playing group.
I certainly think Wane would see the Hull job as an interesting challenge based on the fact that Pearson for all his faults provides the coach and players with what is needed.

Be hard to get rid, to be honest I don't mind these two staying, what we need is a coach who isnt afraid to drop these type of players so they aren't automatic picks.
Hodgson wouldn't do this as seen in the last game of the season.

I'm no fan either but he is exactly what we need right now and could give us the platform to build on for years to come.
I'd have Ellis and Shenton as his assistants to hopefully create a path of progression.

I think if it is Smiffy it would be a good move for the short term.
At least he knows something about the game. I hope he would get a free reign to wield the rod where needed.
We have a great future with our youngsters coming through, but we need our first team to be right for them to full fill their potential.'"
This is part of the Pearson fantasy Island thinking we have a great future based on promising younger players coming through.
How many will be good enough to hold down a regular position in S/L? Not many
In a lot of professional sports most promising kids fall by the wayside or continue to play but in lower leagues.
Look at Longstaff,he is only 20 yet from what i can see miles ahead of anything coming off the Hull fc line

I would have loved the team to have trudged into the dressing room at half time on Saturday to be greeted by Wane with steam coming out of his ears!
Unfortunately timing wise even if Wane wanted the job its awkward with the World Cup, his performance and future with England is on the finest of margins, fail to get to the Semi and he's gone, lose at the Semi and questions get asked, make the Final its a good job, unexpectedly win the thing and he's knighted...but we dont have time to wait til end Nov to find out what happens.

It works at Wigan, Saints and Leeds. All you need is a 2 or 3 a year and that's what we be aiming for, it's the right direction for the club to go. We need a couple of years to bridge the gap.

Parcell is a very good player, never understood Leeds letting him go. Ive never seen Litten change a game though and dont hold him in the same regard as the pther two.
He has had some influential games and also excelled in the halves when playing there due to injuries. Dwyer is a one trick pony compared to Litten. That will be why Rhinos did not offer him a contract. Fortunately you have a habit of letting us sign hookers that with a bit of nurturing turn out to be top class.
