| Quote Steve0="Steve0"Salford do particularly well on the recruitment front season after season, the likes of Croft, Hastings, Lafai etc, they're good at finding players that want to prove a point'"
That's the point at our club we bring in lost souls that just need that chance, I think part of the process at Salford involves asking the player if he wants to play for us, we can't afford to get it wrong with a limited budget, usually they have something to prove either to themselves or former clubs, the likes of Croft and Hastings are well documented but did you know Lafai was without a club in the NRL after Parramatta released him. Dupree and Cross from Widnes Deon Cross came as a squad filler and hasn't missed a game all season with the winger turning into a quality centre.
We had the mercanries when MK was here they all came for the dollar, no thanks give me players who waant to be here, we'll leave the mercanries to the likes of Dire and Shudds.

No. That and the bath water stay. But one or two babies may be getting thrown out.

Ken Davy has pumped loadsa money into Hudds. with very little reward, a real fan but AP has managed the club on his budget and had genuine success and yet AP is vilified by some and one poster in particular who hates centres in general
He’s going around and rebuilding yet again, thank god he’s here. Hopefully next season’s new look team may be the one. I’ll renew my passes yet again and hope against hope it lots of jam today with my crust. Still going to pub and chippy tonight though

He’s exactly the type of coach we need.
Man management skills , knowledge of the game too. His explanations of how teams set up etc absolute spot on.
Hodgson is a clever rugby man but I think his weakness is his man management.
As a player he’s been there done it got the t shirt. Half the battle is getting the players to buy into his game plan'" Danny Orr is a quiet achiever there too, you've only got to look at how Powell has struggled without him. He announced he is leaving Salford at the end of this season but I've not seen anything as to where he is going.
If Hodgson is here next season we need a fresh voice in and around training hopefully at the expense of Purtill.

The fact James Clarke takes care of our signings & retentions is just baffling to me.

| Feels like the whole culture of the squad and performance staff is rotten at Hull. The owner always backs them financially, the fan base is passionate and desperate for something to cheer for and they always have a talented squad. But the team does not deal with adversity well at all and haven't for a few years. When it starts to go wrong the wheels really fall off and I've lost count of the number of heavy defeats (and subsequent comments from the coach about attitude).
I do think Hull should give themselves a fresh start with a new coach but I don't think your problem is going to be solved with tactical or technical knowledge. The main thing for me would be to instill some real motivation, work ethic and resilience into the core of the group. Its just whether the players at Hull have the desire to really buy into a philosophy, commit to it and try and build something. If they don't then I think the club either needs a coach who can change those mindsets or begin a more ruthless overhaul of the squad to bring in players with a better attitude.

Seems to me that you’re outside looking in. There’s a ruthless rebuild going on now and hopefully when the dead woods been chopped away, we’ll see the green shoots of regrowth. I’m sure there’s an excellent coach in Hodgson somewhere but the toxic culture amongst some of our so called players just divides everyone.

Well practically everyone on here is on the outside looking in but you seem to be agreeing with the main point I made anyhow. Maybe Hodgson is capable of the rebuild himself - difficult to say.

I'd be interested in the first two years, particularly Radford?
