| I like Sutty, he’s a good utility player, workmanlike good pro, not sure we need him, as he is probably suited more to the back row, and with Cator,Lane, Griffin, Sav, possibly Longstaff and Browny ability to slot in at 13, then you have our starlets breaking through Severs Scott etc.
I think we had good value from the three loanees, but for me if we are in the market for another back rower to replace Mau, surely we can aim a little higher.

| It'll be a cap thing too. The players were bringing in will be on lower wages than those leaving. I'd imagine we could get Sutcliffe and Longstaff in on Manus salary.
Sutcliffe adds utility value which BH likes too. He's played 1,6 and 4 this season for Leeds.
I think he'd take Griffin's centre position this season, but use him in the back row next season when Carlos is fit. I'd be extra cautious with Andre too, which Sutcliffe would help with

| It’s quite clear we are going down the ‘young and British’ route and I for one am looking forward to it.
Better value for money and at this moment in time it makes financial sense.
Trick will be getting the right players and although it’s early days the signs are good?
Hopefully we will be playing a more expansive style soon as well?

Agree with his utility value MW, no problem, but if we are signing players Leeds deem disposable, surely this type of signing hinders the progress of Severs Walker Scott and apparently a lot more of our kids coming through, Hodgson may indeed like this type of player, hell so do I, but we are implementing a change of thought process at the club, based on our own youth program, this sort of signing seems to work against that mantra.

I'm all for Severs/Litten/Laidlaw and Co stepping up, but I think we're probably 2/3 seasons off them featuring regularly at least. Players like Sutcliffe will help bridge that gap until they're ready.

The players mentioned all seem to be a faster more athletic style. Its a definite shift.
We might have a few players who will support and finish off a break. It's nice to dream anyway

| Can't decide on Sutcliffe, hard to get excited, but can't find too many negatives either. I think we ate going for a younger and hopefully more durable squad next season.
I quite like the look of our squad for next season, ideally I like to see Mau replaced with an overseas player, but can't see the benefit of holding a non fed back for a mid season signing.
Hooker situation is my biggest fear, just watching Leeming and Parcell the last two weeks, so what we are missing. I'm not saying we don't keep Houghton, but days of him starting and certainly playing 80 minutes should start becoming less and less.
Hopefully with Connor back soon, we can see what Lovodua has to offer at 9.

| 9 is the obvious issue we've got. Houghton has re signed by all accounts. Just hope he's used as a squad player and give the role to Joey/Balmforth/Hookem next season.
We've seen the Gamble and Wakeham links too. Was the plan to use them at hooker? Or were they other options if we didn't get Hoy?
