Quote: His Bobness "Admittedly I have no knowledge of this deal so maybe Gayle has agreed that a certain number of appearances would trigger an extra year, that's possible.
He certainly will not have agreed to be left at the whim of Hull who can then discard no matter what if it suits them. Why would he do that? Surely you can agree with me on that.
What's not in dispute is that you have paid money to Sneyd to leave. This is a 30 year old player who has been a regular matchwinner for you in favour of a 33 year old with a shocking recent injury record and on massive wages which Leeds will NOT be subsidising.
Gale blossomed for a while under Powell at Castleford but has been underwhelming at all his other clubs and has been injured most of the time for the past 3 years.
I warned you that Reynolds was not the player of a few years ago and would likely miss loads of games through injury. You didn't believe me but now I'm saying the same about Gale but with knobs on.
You need to hope that McNamara has a step change in performance because with Reynolds and Gale as your first choices he'll be playing big minutes in 2022.'"
1. Sneyd wouldnt have had a payout as he has got a better deal elsewhere hence why he would have agreed/asked to leave knowing next year would have being his last.
2. Gale can come here as a starter and extend his career longer if he performs. At 33 you want to play every week especially in a world cup year. So they will be no major money involved.
3. The option will be in the clubs favour and Im sure Gale will back himself.
It amazes me that one minute you claim we are skint then the next say we are paying mega money.
