| Quote Riderofthepalehorse="Riderofthepalehorse"So to answer your own question, who would you fancy to replace Albert, if we are going with Jake at fullback, which incidentally blocks the way for not only Shaul, but Wynne in the future as well.
It’s a tricky decision.'"
If he hadn’t gone back to Oz I would have made a move to bring Rankin back and play him at 6.
Jake Trueman would be the ideal choice but would cost mega money to get him out of Cas.
Lolohea would be another choice.
I reckon we are going to have to pay a fee as I don’t think there is any player that fits the bill out of contract.

I’m sure Jordan would have jumped at the chance as well, not sure it would have suited us now.
Trueman is an excellent prospect, but as yet he’s not got Alberts quality, but I wouldn’t say no,
Lolly seems to disappear a lot, a bit like Rob Louis
We need to be having a word with Motu, see if he can radar a gem for us, as long as finances allow it.

| Quote bonaire="bonaire"A new half back with pace is a priority.
Losing both Kelly and Ratu takes away the pace we had on the wing and the backing up and support of breaks we had with Kelly.
The changes in Super League means pace is becoming more important with teams like Wigan adding a real speedster in Field.
If we can keep Swift fit he will help but if the club decide to keep Connor at full back then we lose the pace we had with Shaul so its important we find a new half who can give us the pace and back up down the middle.
A good example was the break Griffin made against Warrington.A fast full back would have been with him and for sure if Kelly had been playing it would have been a try under the posts'"
Keep him fit! get him upright would be progress

| Quote Bombed Out="Bombed Out"Why the doom and gloom regarding our finances?
What evidence do you have as your basis?
If Rovers can survive off pass sales, still recruit for next year and possibly have a more expensive coaching set up in Smith and Maguire then I'm sure we're okay, things might be tight as with all clubs but okay.
Otherwise how do you explain us still actively recruiting for a coach and even possibly pay compensation for the coach we wanted.
I just find talk like that unnecessary, unsettling and with no grounding.'"
Agree, everyone knows it isn't a great world out there for any business right now but unlike other industries RL has had a Government bailout. Also HullFC's walk up ticket sales must be amongst the lowest in the league, its pass sales that keep the club afloat and of course they got the full pass income for 2020.
As I've said in another thread they need to think carefully about some kind of money back guarantee or money off a future pass if games cancelled kind of deal or pass sales will be a struggle. Some simply can't afford it, others will edge their bets and just pay on the day as we never sell out. Luckily the team hitting form at the right time helps massively.

Rankin is not a six, decent full back but never a half back.
Its going to be a problem finding a running half with pace but its a priority and im sure the club are on top of it and we will find someone just like we did when Albo was signed..

..... what do you think the walkups would have been for the 2nd home derby, 12000 maybe, a lot of money.
I reckon walkups for most other games will have been around 2-3K, it adds up to a lot of money.
All budgeted for, for this year and next.
Wigan reckon covid testing for them next year could amount to £120k, a lot of money, unless someone else pays.
Sky money next year down by £250k per club, a lot of money.

Im not suggesting the club hasnt lost out, just pointing out most industries haven't had Government cash directly except for the Furlough scheme. I'd say our walk-up crowd is 1-2k usually, and don't forget the SMC get a cut. We also get little to nothing off the bars. Which to me makes that income in the lower half of the league. At some clubs like Wakefield its all about the walkup gate and match day sales, largely due to the poor stadium and weather.

Don't know him, but I'd still replace Bowden & Mantongo with better even though Bowden has had a better few weeks. Would love another Satate in the team.

Completely agree. A 6 and a prop would be my priorities.

He isn’t that good to be honest, quite an underwhelming signing to be honest... would rather stick with players like Lane & Fash - hope to god he isn’t Josh Jones replacement if rumours are to be believed.
