Adam was mightily impressed with Hodgson when he went out of his way to get him as Assistant Coach before he reneged at the last moment when the NRL came calling. However I wouldn't rule anyone out in the long term because even in the case of Watson perhaps as they say in the Mail tonight we didn't actually offer him the post. He does seem to be keeping his options open a tad with what he has said in those interviews.

If his kids have A levels coming up next summer, I'd imagine that's the biggest hurdle he has to overcome, I can't see him commuting for 9 months.

Brett Hodgson did some part time coaching with us back in 2014. He did a day a week and spent time mentoring Jamie Shaul.

Should of taught him how to pass, it would have saved a whole lot of trouble.

i understand Warrington have also asked to speak with him.
In any case it was unlikely he would have moved his family to Hull and daily travelling would not be ideal for both him and the club

Think our supporters play a big factor, win and we are great and lose we are bad. The pressure our supporters add is unbelievable for a club who has only averaged 1 piece of silverware per 10 years for the last 30 years. We have huge potential but I feel we dowse a fire before its allowed to burn at times. Patience is something we don't seem blessed with. It will take any coach at least two seasons before any coach gets us to the level Saints or Wigan play at, I just can't see us being that patient to allow that to happen.

We also lose out to top talent should we come up against the big 3, which makes it hard for a coach. Our best case is unearthing an unproven gem but then again we will only ever be a stepping stone and I'm not sure that's a direction AP wants to go.

The fact AP has had to approach Watson tells you the people who have applied are either unproven or not at the top end of the spectrum. If a top candidate had im sure he would be in charge.
