I just dont get the "no point in shoulting and kicking stones in the dressing room because they dont respond"
Sorry Lee that means they dont respect you, i would have been livid if I was coach, I put 110% effort in everything I do and I expect others to be the same.
If we do not make the Top 5 then this season is a failure for sure.

This shows why unfortunately he is not the person to take the club any further as he is unable to manage them. The players rule the roost clearly and are not being held to account for their woeful performances. So why is next season going to any different?
Giving them all a week off has worked wonders too hasn’t it??? NOT!!

| Whilst I agree with most sentiments on the thread, I’m not usually a coach baiter, and don’t like the upheaval it brings to the club. If you look at Radford’s tenure, it took a couple of seasons to rid the club of McRae and Gentles rubbish signings. Once done and Lee got HIS team we flirted with success for 2 seasons, 2 tremendous Wembley wins and in 2017 we could have easily won the treble. Since then, poor recruitment or retention have done us. Adam Pearson said after he’d binned Gentle, that he wouldn’t accept enormous swings in team performance anymore but that is exactly what we have had for 2 seasons. To put this season into context, we have been beaten in a tense and hard fought CC semi by the eventual winners, had second place in the league easily within our grasp but look like finishing one place above Leed’s worse team ever in 7th. I’ve heard the term “ punching above our weight” used a lot but even with this seasons poor recruitment, if Radford was the coach Pearson believes him to be, we could have achieved so much more. Radford has been allowed to identify players he wants for next season and most have been signed. AP has to share the blame for allowing older players to be retained this season for whatever reasons (Mini and Sika) and that’s probably why he’s backing Radders but as the owner he has to back up his own convictions and performance on the pitch the last 2 seasons have been unacceptable, time to put up or shut up. I’ve posted a couple of times that if it was possible, Ian Watson would make all the difference but I can’t see him playing second fiddle to Radford or visa versa. So the obvious answer is replace our coaching team with new personnel but it just won’t happen. That’s why the club is filled with apathy from top to bottom and needs a clean sweep.

That's a well balanced post and I agree with your sentiments.
Credit to you for saying that as you've been a staunch Radford supporter if my memory serves me well.
It must have got to something if yourself and Hull2524 are now questioning Radford's coaching future.

| It's a strange situation that we find ourselves in. Having identified that some players have been retained for too long, probably on the back of the Challenge Cup wins the owner seems to be making the same mistake with the coach! What he achieved was amazing and will become club folklore but it must not be allowed to muddy the waters where the future is concerned. It is history after all.

| I believe Radford is a decent coach. I think overall he's been great for us. I also think when/if he leaves us he'll be a successful coach at another club. However, I believe all coaches have a shelf life. With the players seemingly lacking either the creativity or the game plan to stop making any trip to the KC painful, I can't see any other option than getting a new coach in with new ideas. I don't see it happening though.

| What Barry McDermott said on the telly last night hit the nail on the head in my opinion. Radford is good coach, but some of his players are not performing. This from a former player.

And the responsibility for that is Radford's. He's already admitted that he doesn't know what to do with them. What more incentive does the owner need to make a change?

| The coach isn’t going anywhere.
Next year will bring higher expectations, due to the signings, but Radford has already alluded to that.
Still think we need strengthening in the coaching ranks. I bet other teams have bigger coaching staffs than we have.
Plus we need a fresh voice, especially in attack (and defence judging by our home performances!)

| We've become a "one trick pony side " for to long , other teams know how to play against us and nullify anything we attack with , yet we persist in still going down the same path with the same old plays and structures that just don't work . I don't think Radford knows anything different and will still persist in a failed game plan.
The shine of the two Wembley wins has well and truly gone now in many supporters eyes , Time for change , Thanks for the memories Lee .
