| In my opinion Radford has to go the problem is in rugby that there isn't a really good time to sack a coach especially as we sign the majority of the players during the current season which Radford will have picked. Fonua is massive pals with Radford so he will have been a reason for signing. I also believe Pearson just won't get rid of Radford and go down the Aussie route after been stung financially with McRae and Gentle. The signing we have made will get the fans back but still feel our style of rugby will leave us behind.wonser when his new contract will get announced.

| Pearson wont sack radford unless there is a financial reason to and while we all keep buying season passes and turning up there is no financial reason to get rid

| Quote bonaire="bonaire"This insular Hull bubble is a major problem at the club
Yeaman was a prime example.Kept on at the club two seasons too long and then given an internal job which he had no qualifications for.
Richard Horne given a coaching role then allowed to go part time to take up a coaching job at Doncaster
Never dropping Houghton,Taylor or Shaul even when their form dipped and would have allowed a reserve player to come in to show what they could do.
It wont happen but you have to say that Radford has failed badly and is living on the back of the C/C victories.
He is very lucky to have the backing of Pearson as any other coach would have been long gone by now.
I dont think we need any more assistants,we need a complete change of the coaching staff'"
Cant argue with any of the above comments...
The 'excuse' of 'not me guv' from Radford clearly shows he has no idea, how to man-manage a group of individuals -IMO
In any walk of life, a Manager's main duty is to motivate staff and creates an environment where employees thrive. Can anyone honestly say this is happening at Hull FC???
Then we have the comments from Adam Pearson, "as long as I'm the owner, LR has the job"
That's a crazy statement to make, for mine - apathy has crept in... the club has gone stale.
The whole coaching set up, needs a major shakeup, with staff with new ideas and attitude...
I wouldnt mind, the likes of Watson or Wane.. but of course it wont happen...

| Most people I know want Radford to do well, and don’t want to be calling for anyone to be removed.
What we are seeing though is the same thing occurring over and over again. We are totally clueless going forward, and once we get into the oppositions 25, we can only score one through barge overs.
It looks like we’re going for size again in 2020, so I’m presuming it will be more of getting upfield with some grunt, then kick to the corner on tackle 5.
We seem to be reliant on individuals (eg Kelly) creating things, rather than having systems in place to create the opportunities.

I just dont get the "no point in shoulting and kicking stones in the dressing room because they dont respond"
Sorry Lee that means they dont respect you, i would have been livid if I was coach, I put 110% effort in everything I do and I expect others to be the same.
If we do not make the Top 5 then this season is a failure for sure.

This shows why unfortunately he is not the person to take the club any further as he is unable to manage them. The players rule the roost clearly and are not being held to account for their woeful performances. So why is next season going to any different?
Giving them all a week off has worked wonders too hasn’t it??? NOT!!

| Whilst I agree with most sentiments on the thread, I’m not usually a coach baiter, and don’t like the upheaval it brings to the club. If you look at Radford’s tenure, it took a couple of seasons to rid the club of McRae and Gentles rubbish signings. Once done and Lee got HIS team we flirted with success for 2 seasons, 2 tremendous Wembley wins and in 2017 we could have easily won the treble. Since then, poor recruitment or retention have done us. Adam Pearson said after he’d binned Gentle, that he wouldn’t accept enormous swings in team performance anymore but that is exactly what we have had for 2 seasons. To put this season into context, we have been beaten in a tense and hard fought CC semi by the eventual winners, had second place in the league easily within our grasp but look like finishing one place above Leed’s worse team ever in 7th. I’ve heard the term “ punching above our weight” used a lot but even with this seasons poor recruitment, if Radford was the coach Pearson believes him to be, we could have achieved so much more. Radford has been allowed to identify players he wants for next season and most have been signed. AP has to share the blame for allowing older players to be retained this season for whatever reasons (Mini and Sika) and that’s probably why he’s backing Radders but as the owner he has to back up his own convictions and performance on the pitch the last 2 seasons have been unacceptable, time to put up or shut up. I’ve posted a couple of times that if it was possible, Ian Watson would make all the difference but I can’t see him playing second fiddle to Radford or visa versa. So the obvious answer is replace our coaching team with new personnel but it just won’t happen. That’s why the club is filled with apathy from top to bottom and needs a clean sweep.

That's a well balanced post and I agree with your sentiments.
Credit to you for saying that as you've been a staunch Radford supporter if my memory serves me well.
It must have got to something if yourself and Hull2524 are now questioning Radford's coaching future.

| It's a strange situation that we find ourselves in. Having identified that some players have been retained for too long, probably on the back of the Challenge Cup wins the owner seems to be making the same mistake with the coach! What he achieved was amazing and will become club folklore but it must not be allowed to muddy the waters where the future is concerned. It is history after all.

| I believe Radford is a decent coach. I think overall he's been great for us. I also think when/if he leaves us he'll be a successful coach at another club. However, I believe all coaches have a shelf life. With the players seemingly lacking either the creativity or the game plan to stop making any trip to the KC painful, I can't see any other option than getting a new coach in with new ideas. I don't see it happening though.
