Quote: Mrs Barista "They have been saying this relentlessly for over a decade, going back to the days of predicting Kristian Bell and Louis Sheriffe lifting the CC at Wembley. I will examine the how all this bluster has panned out in my lovely chart.'"
Wow, i’d completely forgotten about Bell!
Always interesting to look back at these:

Quick health warning for any Rovers fans following this, about Mrs B’s chart. It will contain some inconsistencies and/or assumptions that are unfair to our club. This is not because she is incapable of rigorous analyses of data (she is capable) or she needs to gild the lily to illiustrate her point (that Rovers’ production of good players has... well, it hasn’t). It’s a rhetorical ploy to keep the thread active and allow her to keep making the same point repeatedly. Some people like to argue (i’m one), which is different to having a row. So, I look forward to splashing about in whatever she creates for me/us. If it’s not your thing, don’t take it any more seriously than it is intended.
Right, I think ‘bring it’, is the appropriate phrase. ![Wink icon_wink.gif](images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

i think he's just pointing out that sometimes people percieve wigan as a small town and wonder how they knock out all the young players, and he's saying wigan has more population to draw on than some people think. nothing more than that

… nearer 600k, over an area of 930 square miles, wigan borough is 77 square miles.

add another 50 sq miles on. Hull is half the size of Wigan.
As many of us say, stats count for little.
