But in a sense they are immortal. They did something that nobody else has ever done in our history. They will be in the history books and will be remembered long after their deaths, even by those that never saw them play. Just like we remember Harrison, Batten, Oliver, Sullivan etc.
Nothing in our known universe is truly immortal. That's about as close as you are going to get.
