3 forwards and 3 backs missing tonight who would all have played if fit including 2 of our 3 best players who are also our most creative. I think if kelly and/or connor were playing tonight we'd have won, however rovers are pretty garbage and will likely be bottom 4 so I don't think the game is any great indicator that we're a decent side.
I thought the work ethic was brilliant though and lane, matongo and litten all showed up well. paea is finished though. I can't believe sneyd didn't kick that ball into touch on our last set. It's what he's done time and time again for us. We needed a controlled turnover. Even a drive and turnover on the line so we could set our defence would have seen us home IMO.
Ultimately it's disappointing to lose the way we did but overall it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, mainly because we defended well and rovers were pretty poor.
We'll probably lose more than we win this year and be somewhere around 7th or 8th. It's imperative that we recruit well for next year and move on a large number of players who aren't at the top of their game any longer

Ooofff. Bitter eh. Difficult to take that though I appreciate. For a first game of the season it was pretty good quality. Good defence by both sides. Not too many errors for an opener in th owe conditions.
Better quality than any of the derbies last year.
Rovers will get better. Without our 1 and 9 and 2other first teamers and 8 derby debuts, 5 club debuts. With the injured players we might have our 60 on you.

All the second half we couldn’t get out our own half each set until the last one couldn’t believe Sneyd didn’t kick to touch he seems to do it all the time Paea was terrible chuffed we won think it’s 5 years since we beat you at home

Fine line between success and failure but stone me I have no idea how you lost that.. you were so much better in the first half that it was a shambles you went in 2 down at the break ! And the same for the second, dominated the territory. Smash and grab from kr. Sneyd has to grubber on your last set though, then worse case scenario they've burnt one tackle on their line. You can't legislate for that last minute though, 90 times / 100 you hold on there. Kr are a much better side then you lot are probably giving them.

Keef, I wanted kr to win. Radford said pretty much what I said (I watched the game after the Cas game and typed that when you won so before hearing Radford). It wasn't a dig at you, I just thought hull were the better side and had more of the territory.
Fact and stats or not I'll take faraimo anytime at 7/4.  |

i agree jamie Shaul had a good game and worked hard but he has to learn to attack the ball and take it on the full even if it means taking a hit.
