| just to add a wee bit of clarity the figures are out of a total of 30 games (22 normal home and away, 1 magic and 7 super 8s). 30 x 17 = 510 possible appearances for the 1st 17
interesting to see how the 1st 17 figures compares to the 2016 season

and just a quick change to the figures, the respective percentages are 70.1 and 29.9
so our second string contributed almost a third of the total appearances available

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| It's not just players missing games due to injuries, you need to add on the impact of losing players during games, there were plenty of matches last year where interchange options were pretty much non existent, adding even more minutes to players who were already "busted".

We played 35 games in 2016 and the total appearances for the top 18 players were
Scott Taylor 34
Danny Houghton 34
Marc Sneyd 33
Josh Bowden 33
Jamie Shaul 32
Liam Watts 31
Danny Washbrook 30
Fetuli Talanoa 29
Steve Michaels 29
Sika Manu 29
Mahe Fonua 28
Mark Minichiello 28
Kirk Yeaman 28
Chris Green 26
Frank Pritchard 26
Carlos Tuimavave 25
Gareth Ellis 25
Jordan Thompson 25
We had remarkable fortune with lack of injuries and we saw the benefits of that. Some of the games missed were due to being able to rest players like the week after Wembley.
