| I'm guessing that we don't have a marquee signing for 2019. I think that this shows a slight lack of ambition given the current situation with our squad and salary cap.
Let's face, Leeds now have 2 marquee signings after their announcement today.

I'd have thought Kelly won't be far off being one - Leeds can probably afford 2 marquee signings because they're rebuilding from a much lower salary base.

| I agree that Saints, Wire and Leeds all look like strong top 3 contenders. Cats, Wigan, Hudds and Cas will all be strong next season as well.
I'm concerned for the coming season because after a few seasons of fantastic recruitment, we've done virtually nothing. We're standing still in squad quality terms and, as we all know, standing still while all around us strengthen is actually going backwards in real terms.
It's not exactly doom and gloom but I see a very uneventful mid-table season which ends, in effect, the day that we're knocked out of the Challenge Cup.

the fc sentimentality once again full swing! i fear it will be our downfall again this coming season and for the first time in a few years, not looking forward to it as i think we will struggle to get anywhere near top 5, it seems that the club/coaches/owner owe those that helped us have great seasons in 2016/17 with extended deals when most of us fear its a season too far for some.
the likes of wigan and saints know when their players are done and not needed, we need to do the same!

We wouldn't have been if we didn't keep Talanoa and one of Manu or Mini, that would have given us cash and two
quota spots.
Coukd have used Griffin, Hakim or Dawson on the wing and signed two forwards.
Will fans stay patience im not sure we can afford another season like last year.
Our only chance is to keep our spine of Connor, Kelly, Sneyd, Houghton and Westerman fit

| Our recruitment for 2019 has been abysmal.
Expect another struggle of a season, next year.

Agreed. Should have parted company with Talanoa and Mini. Great servants but its time to move on.
I feel like its 2007 all over again were we gradually dismantled a GF team and replaced them with average players.

| Slightly o/t but who's stepped into Motu's shoes now that Gareth has moved over? Recruitment from now until this time next year is going to be critical for the future of the club and the aspirations of us as supporters!

Agreed as good as Mini, Sika & Talanoa have been for us we needed to look at replacing rather than re signing them. All 3 take up quota spots and i'm sure we could have made improvements in the squad by replacing them. I can understand keeping one of Mini or Manu as replacing both at once would have been a hard task. The re signing of Washy, Mini & Manu for me seems like lazy recruitment.
All 3 are now going to have to hit the ground running from the off to warrant the extensions. Hopefully they will all have decent injury free runs too as do feel that cost us massively particularly with both Mini & Manu playing injured which just compounded things.
Do think with Sneyd, Kelly, Connor, Houghton, Taylor & Westerman fully fit with less injury time to Paea, Manu & Mini we will still be genuine contenders, however we have to be able to find a different plan that will work if we can't just play the power game.

Not having a dig here,
Given the squad we have and that we are lead to understand that there was little cap left to play with unless players left, and if we had the money availalbe to afford to pay beyond £175k for a Marque player, who would you release and who would you sign?
