Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "Any new owner of the stadium will want maximum usage from it for a return. They would not have to go looking for a new customers for the August Bank holiday weekend as they already have one with the RFL.
Not sure why some are getting hot and bothered about this. It will remain a stadium for the foreseeable future. There will be contracts in place which will need to be honoured for its usage.
Finally, and probably most importantly, Wembley is a fantastic sports venue, however its lost its special feel since its been rebuilt. Its basically a big version of Arsenals ground and is not longer distinctive as the old stadium once was. Its become an events venue rather then a sporting one. The evidence of this is clear when you see the corporate seats near the players tunnel which are unoccupied until 5 minutes after kick off / half time. Its hardly a great advert for any sporting event there when the prime seats are empty are the beginning of the game.
Let the FA sell it and then build an 80k venue North of London which is far more accessble to the masses.'"
So long as the FA give ALL of the money back to HMRC, I agree, it was paid for by the people of the UK, It wont be available in August as Jacksonville will want to play pre-season games there. The FA, like the RFL, have lost control. No need for a new stadium IF it's sold, plenty of capacity at other grounds around the country.
