A poster claimed its unlawful to dismiss someone for conduct away from the workplace.
I provided the clearest evidence I could that she/he was wrong.
I wouldn’t want Albert Kelly anywhere near my club. Like Hardaker, his next disaster is always around the next corner.'"
I'm pretty sure that you've been all over the forums most of the day saying he should be sacked.
Standee doesn't have the slightest grasp of anything in the real world and even claimed that the maccy d's employee contravened GDPR regs even though they're not even in force yet so I think we can disregard anything he says.
Of course someone can be sacked for something they do out of work if it can be proven that it is in contravention of company rules/policies. As none of us are privvy to these then you or I cannot say whether he could (or should) be legally sacked and morally I see no reason to sack him. Mow our moral compasses may be pointing in a slightly different direction on this one but even if they wanted to, Hull may not actually be in a position to sack kelly, just as they may not have been with watts.
The club cannot comment on teh specifics of what has happened for obvious reasons hence the very spare information coming from the club so we just have to accept it's been dealt with in line with company policies and move on
