Quote PCollinson1990="PCollinson1990"did he beat up his wife, drive away from an accident, kick the living daylights out of someone on a roundabout?'"
No... is your implication that that makes it okay?
I don’t expect him to be torn limb from limb over this, but at a minimum an apology and some sort of contrition appears to in order.

Aye that’s the one, fair enough.
Quote PCollinson1990="Mrs Barista"If you look back to page 1 of the thread that was sort of the point. Flawed character, prodigious talent. What the appropriate consequences are for this transgression I don't know, but "as a Rovers fan" the moral latitude afforded to players by your current board is perhaps what you'd suggest we apply here?'"
The ones that spring to mind are Cockayne because of his repeated offending and Minns because it is recent. I’m happy to discuss others, if you can remind me. Just to acknowledge up front that neither were/are as good/important players as Kelly, making it easier to take the moral high ground to the limited extent that I did.
For Cockayne, the suspension for the assault, I was just about okay with that and one or two people told me it was out of character. The racist Facebook post was his second chance for me and I thought it was a mistake not to sack him then. It’s a fine line between being supportive and enabling. Obviously then, I had no issue when he was sacked after the next thing with the car and Watts. I couldn’t, and still don’t really, understand why we bought him back for the second spell though that was as much for rugby reasons as anything else.
With Minns, as with Cockayne’s first offence, i’m okay with the club being supportive. I think he should and will get a ban, because those are the rules, but i’m not a great believer in our drug laws and by itself, I don’t think using is as bad as assault (definitely), or using racist or misogynistic language in the ways Cockayne or Kelly, respectively, did. I imagine on the last the difference between BC and AK and a fair few others is that they were caught, but that doesn’t excuse them.
Assuming there’s no more to it, either mitigating or aggravating, then I think one of those all too standard club statements and a fine paid to a women’s charity will be the extent of it. And McDonalds should ban him (if that’s where it was).
