We were total pants. Never looked like scoring after Hadley's try and Shaul was our only threat with his broken field running but that obviously disappeared down the tunnel with him in the 2nd half.

Widnes only played a quarter of the game the week before, and usually do alright on the plastic pitch. Not a surprise they beat Salford. But I don't think Salford are as poor as some (including myself) expected. Not making excuses, by the sounds of it hull were turd.

widnes aren't a bad side but this is the 3rd season in a row they have suffered horrible injury problems. Surely at some point someone looks at whether there is a link between this and their plastic pitch?

Salford aren't that good but we suffered from a lack of size missing paea manu and watts from what we'd had before. I think it's a mistake going the season without replacing watts

Much needed win! And nice to get a few points on the board. Just a shame to let 2 trys in at the end. But hopefully a big confidence boost to the lads with a couple of very winnable games coming up next. Would be disappointed to lose either of them.

Didn't think we played that well, not very fluent with the ball but got to be happy with the win. Thought they made good metres with the ball but had no creativity in the halves

A solid win going by the scoreline (I haven't listened or read anything) and very much needed confidence booster before playing the East Hull lot.
