if our main leader of the team and one that is a decent player to boot ended up being out for a long period of time if played when not fit would you not see that as a mistake?
I wouldn't know Ellis's status after the leeds game and leading up to today's game however as he's already had some injuries and doubts after Friday discussing whether any player should be played never mind one that is so important to us is pertinent.
If the coach plays x player and he comes through okay, the gamble pays off, however at this juncture when we aren't exactly in the quag against a side like Leigh whom already had plenty out of their own/not a top 4 team, playing someone of Ellis's stature who as I said IF he weren't fit it would be a huge gamble.
the result obviously makes it seem like it was worth the risk playing him, I'm not so sure it is, injury or not.
all teams do it, always have always will, we don't know the ins and outs of any injuries, we have to trust the conditioning staff the coach and the player himself,
