I appreciate his track record is hardly clean, but the reality is, I have no real idea (or interest) on his past in Australia. His time at rovers was, first season fantastic, second season not so. But when you drill down into the issues at rovers last year (they didnt recruit at the beginning of 2016
A bit harsh on Rovers ambition there Dave, Hudgell was crystal clear the aim was to return to Wembley after a 50-0 battering and lift the trophy. Sadly this ambition was ecllipsed by the reality of an early exist to Oldham, derby whitewash and relegation. For a player of Kelly's undoubted ability this must have been hugely sapping to be part of. The difficulty with all this, and why Kelly's signing was and still is seen as a risk worth taking, is which other stand offs in the comp would you rather have and are/would be available? I like many others last year would have been happy to see a 35 year old Brough here to partner Sneyd, which highlights the lack of quality on the market, so every effort should be made to make this project a success and if so extend it.
