| Whilst Houghton was fantastic yesterday, it's difficult to rate Roby's performance due to the Saints forward pack rolling over and getting their bellies tickled. He's still a fantastic player and had some good performances this year.
I think Peacock would've been right to say what he did a year or two ago, but Houghton's decision-making and game smarts have much improved. Maybe he doesn't watch too many games now he's so busy with devising the 5-year plan for world domination.
England are blessed at hooker at the moment, but Houghton should be in with a shout.

| Seems like Dave K has called it on that thread. I was critical of him at times for distribution quality but playing with better players has obviously helped. I also believe he has improved his technique. What I liked on Sunday was his darting out of dummy half and his switches of direction. Clearly something that has been worked on as he had proper running options on both sides making his distribution more effective. All power to him - if anyone in this team deserves a bit of success it's Danny.

To be fair, I never said Houghton was perfect, just a bit of scapegoat at the time for our disappointing performances, he had work to do in his game and at times his decision making still isn't perfect, but always has been one our most important players and easily a top SL hooker. Just has better players around him, so he looks a better player.

This, basically.
I've been really impressed with the improvement in Houghton's distribution and decision making this season. Better players getting him faster PTB and offering more options has allowed him to really develop those sides of his game. He is now looking like the complete package.

| Should our season continue in the same way it is going right now, Danny Houghton will be a front runner for Man of Steel. If we make the cup final and, whisper it, a Grand Final too, Houghton will be a shoe in. Any final appearance for us this season will, if we win, involve a Houghton MOTM performance.
