| Whiting and Thompson would still not free up the non fed place. It comes down to Michael's if true. Thompson ain't gonna be on big wage and he's probably one of the 'every team needs cheap players with effort' players. At a push I reckon it would be Michael's and cash or whiting but I hope not.

I reckon Thompson will be on good money, as we will have paid him well to leave Cas. His role as a squad player should be the likes of Turgut, Hadley and Downs.
It has to be Michaels to be released or used in part exchange I agree.

I think the rumour of our interest has legs despite the obvious logistical challenges. But it's a complicated scenario for all parties. Carney's clearly crossed a line big time at Cas.
We lack size and aggression in the three quarters, so he'd be a great fit from that perspective. His discipline's poor but as others have stated he wasn't brought to disciplinary last year so has a handy EGP at the ready. It would be a risky signing, certainly. But maybe the club feel the potential rewards of a player that averages 130metres gained per game are worth it. I could be wrong, but I think his try return in SL is 56 from 56? Can that be right? No idea what will happen but definitely an interesting one.

| This is all just rumour and speculation at the moment. We don't have a non-fed spot available so all this talk of Whiting and/or Thompson leaving is meaningless.
Assuming we don't have a problem with one of our new overseas signings the obvious candidate to leave would be Michaels.
He has a contract which he would rightly expect to be paid up. AP has said he is not going to pay off any more players and can he afford to anyway?
The only way the deal could happen would be if Michaels goes to Cas in a swap deal or if there is a problem with his visa which would only have been for one year and would need to be extended. However as he has not been convicted of anything why wouldn't it be extended?

| Further problem, and one hopefully Chris28 could answer - If Micheals moves clubs, wouldn't he need to apply for a new visa? Whereas he wouldn't to stay on here.

He might do even if he stays with us, was he a one year initially with further options? If so, his initial visa might be just a year long one.

Dont quote me.., but if he's changed UK employer,
I think he needs a new work permit... and a new UK Visa to remain..
IF... the allegation in QLD, is still current,it would be difficult
to renew his visa.. -IMO

| I find it amazing (if its true) that a club which has suffered adversely as a result of "player power" over at least the last 10 years should allow its players to have a veto over who it does or does not sign.
Can anyone imagine Leeds or Wigan doing this?
