Quote: Jimmy Carr "Think your wrong....KR fans THINK it matters.
I was 5 years old when that match took place and couldn't care less, and I don't know one FC who even gives it a second thought.
I was at Cardiff in 2005 and trust me, the feeling that day was pure euphoria - didn't matter a jot it wasn't at Wembley.
Interestingly enough - after the game drinking in the pubs around the ground with all sorts of fans (as is the challenge cup) a man and his wife walked past the pub full of FC fans in KR tops, needless to say they got some banter - to which of course all the man could say was 'but you've never won at Wembley!'
It didn't spoil a thing, 30 second later they were gone - just like the 1980 final.'"
I think he's right. With every passing visit to Wembley that we fail to win comes a bigger sense of despair for some of us. I personally am not interested so much in a Grand Final win. What I and many like me want is a Wembley win. Maybe you had to be emotionally involved with Wembleys 80, 82, 83 & 85 to get that. I say maybe.
80 vs that lot which we will forever be reminded of. 82 when Sammy did kick the crucial goal. 83 when we should have won and then 85 which we are always told was the best final ever. It hurts like hell. The only final we've been to since then that I didn't expect us to win was 2008. With the exception of 05 it has been incredibly heartbreaking and boy do they love to remind us.
As for wanting them to win. Do me a favour Mr bump. You've been taking in too much Hertfordshire air. Do as I did and get away and move to Sussex it will unscramble your mind
