it was something to do with the red button. Sometimes you can't do series link if there is a red button choice. I double checked - it was set to record the first and third matches, but not Hull's so had to set it again as a one-off.

interesting to see other people had problems, as ive been beating myself up since we got home at midnight on Saturday to find I hadn't recorded it!! is there no way to get it into my sky plus planner then?

I was lucky. My son (a non-rugby fan) recorded each match separately for me.
