He was looking pretty trim when I watched the highlights of the Leicester game but yeah I get that if you can't get to where a club wants you within X period of time you're basically out the door.
Just that some players flourish later than others, not saying Pearce would have been anything special but I reckon certain players can fall by the wayside on size alone as it's [igenerally[/i considered to be a pre-requisite. The concept that some players can fight well above their weight and indeed still make an impact does pass SL coaches and fans by at times.
Similarly if there was an issue with his conditioning how was that handled, was he mature enough to keep to a certain regime, anyway it might have done him good to be playing lower league union and realise he needed to sort out his stamina.

Don't think we ever did. Just something tevita said in paper. Used to play him 2nd row n prop in the 20s but didn't even have the engine for that. Coaches used to try keep him on so he'd push through n get his 2nd wind but he didn't have the stomach for it. Lost count of the times he went off injured but played every week. Not cut out for league.'"
I'm sure it was on the clubs website that he was being touted as a winger as well as other places.
