looks like the falling gates are having an impression on Pearson icon_biggrin.gifEPRESSED:

well when he comes out and defends one of the most ineffective coach I've seen in over 40 years of following FC what does he expect people to do?
I love the club and all I can do to try get him to change his mind about the coaching issues is withdraw my paying support, enough is enough for this supporter and until Radford goes I will be 1 less in the dwindling crowd ,I know this hurts the club overall but something has to change.

Quote: fcandy "This all comes down to one decision for me, either I stop supporting the club I love or continue to go and support it despite the obvious issues that need addressing. If enough people decide to do the first option in protest of the current failings in coaching and player performance then longer term this actually makes getting to the place we all want the club to be more difficult (Cutting off your nose to spite your face). It may even contribute to the eventual demise of the club. That is something I can simply not do as I would rather have a failing club that could potentially be great one day than no club at all.

We have to accept that only one man's decision counts in reality, and although the large majority disagree with his stance on the coach, he has earned the right by way of investment to make those decisions. No one accept Adam knows what factors are in the mix when finalising those decisions and I suspect the financial burden of the club is now having a major influence on them. Our owner has invested a lot of money, always been open and honest with us, has accepted past mistakes and has always had the clubs best interest at heart. As a fan base we can expect little more when you think of all the factors working against him at present. I think he and therefore the team deserves our backing all things considered.'"

My position also. Tough times.

I think i'll make sure my phone is fully charged for the game. I'm sure there'll be something on iPlayer worth watching.

Quote: CliveM1941 "Only just started reading this thread and a myth about how good Gentle was needs to be put straight . I used to speak to him on the golf course on occasion and one thing he confessed to me was he didn't know how to fire the team up against Rovers.'"

If you've got to `fire players up' for a derby, there's something wrong with the players!
Didn't Gentle come out on top each season he was here ?How did Agar do?
How's Radford doing? I think you're missing the point - most people wouldn't
of minded Gentle leaving if we appointed a better coach.
What Pearson did was sheer lunacy.

Radford has had his day in the sun. Turned his back on fc as a kid and went on to achieve great things.

I don't blame him for our predicament. He was/is an average amateur coach and a very good union player/coach.

Our lack of a tried and tested coach comes from those who hold the purse strings. Sharp and gentle were given the rough end of the stick.

No I'm not missing the point . I'm pointing out that he wasn't as good as some people believe regardless of the results. I was told stuff by "people in the know" as is often quoted on here, backed up what I thought at the time.
I totally agree with you we should have signed a better coach and like you and lots of other fans are worried how bad we have to get before that is rectified. Like everybody else , and I do believe lots of fans are good judges of players and coaches, I despair at the school boy errors on and off the pitch. Seeing the same errors and lack of basic skills week after week is getting hard to watch.

Lets hope we hope we start playing better or something is changed at the top.
