Do you put this down to a lack of mental strength as a team?'"

Not sure it's "mental strength" so much as concentration, I'd see being "mentally strong" as being able to deal with adversity and uncertainty in everyday life, not keeping your eye on the ball in a sports game. We have an unfortunate "habit" of losing our leaders towards the end of games (possibly because our leaders are the 'older' players), will be great if Sneyd/Houghton can develop their team/game management skills.

A bit, yes. I think when a game is close we often look panicked and clueless. The first half hour last night with masses of possession and position was just a boring repetition of 5 attempts to barge through and then a chip over, no other ideas. Once we get a couple of scores in front we calm down and actually start to play rugby, so we win more handsomely.

I agree, it also suggests we are not mentally prepared sufficiently, this shows when we play a 'lesser team', other top RL teams employ a Sports Psychologist... we don't.

It does seem to be a problem although those close games last year had a lot to do with our poor goal kicking.

As fans I think we could help a bit. The team seems to lose concentration when we are quiet and then get it back when we are louder.

It's not really mental strength, more game management and leadership.
