Why cant the player take 2 weeks unpaid leave and see whats doing, after all, thats all it is, hes innocent isnt he? he goes to cop shop, tell them he was with his lass on the times of the events and its all gravy, we get a player back after a coulple of weeks who can continue to warm the bench

The problem (for him) is that if he goes home, he'll be charged, and it will then be up to him to prove his innocence. That might take years.
If he really is innocent, then what's the answer?
