There's been a lot of comments on here bemoaning Radford before we had even played a competitive match. Well, now we have, and as quick as some might be to talk about the coach had we lost, a chunk of credit should go to him after a win too.
A few points I'd like to make about him based on the game today:
- He showed guts not selecting a hooker on the bench when many teams would/do, and it paid off.
- Identified what we needed to do to stop Brough playing, and it worked a treat.
- We look very fit.
- Interchanges were spot on.
- The commitment, desire and togetherness is there in the team that wasn't there for most of 2014.
- Defensively we were pretty good.
By no means is today a reason to get carried away. Huddersfield while solid, didn't offer too much in attack (and there's plenty for us to improve on too). Overall I'm pretty happy and I can see plenty of things to be optimistic about. Credit where it's due to the players, and the coach
