I think it was a tongue in cheek comment mate. Linekers a bit of a lad isnt he!

Lineker is a bit of a cheeky chap but witty as well. He reeled plenty in by a clever duel tweet. Took the p## out of his own sport n it's short falls whilst at the same time pointing out for all the hysteria over Everything in football they're not pulling stunts like this.
I've never seen so many celebrities both sports n general comment on an RL game. Shame it's for an assault that gets u jail time in the real world. (Said as a lover of a bit of biff)
